They finished with a 19-10 record after the All-Star break and they could make some moves in the offseason to further improve their squad.
What do you think? Do you see any of the current Playoff squads falling out of the race next year?

Looks like Port is going to be left at the alter by LMA and quite possibly Wes Matthews. That would drop them out of the playoffs entirely. Dallas has some ugly choices to make. If they don't stack up money for old guys past their prime (Ellis, Chandler, etc) they could easily fare the same.
That would get OKC and Utah in.

It's up to their GM basically. No reason they shouldn't be one of the top teams next year after the finish they had. Defensively they were historically great. Need to improve offensively. Better shooting and talent. They need two or 3 players but they have the cap space and assets to get it done if they choose. Need one pg minimum and a back-up center. Maybe another wing. Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Burks and Hood match up favorably with any 5 in the league. All about what they put around them now.

Honestly, they have very little chance of making the playoffs, unless Gasol and Aldridge both leave in free agency, or there are major injury issues for multiple teams.

The West is just too strong that any major injury to a key player can make a team totally miss the playoff. I was surprised that Rocket held their own without Dwight.

Start by asking yourself... who do they replace??
Dallas? Maybe.
Not GS.
Not Houston
Not Memphis
Not San Antonio
Not Portland
Not LA
Not a healthy OKC.
Not a Pelicans team with another year of experience.
So who do they replace?

I could see them replacing the Pelicans, Mavs, Blazers.. depending on making one more big move or so.

They were better than most of those teams down the stretch and showed they could play with any of them outside GS maybe. That was without a back-up center, pg or Burks!

They have a chance, but it is a long shot. We have a good young core that needs to continue developing for this to happen.

I could see Dallas missing it next year barring a nice offseason, and Portland if Aldridge leaves. OKC is a lock if Durant is healthy, and the other 6 that made it will make it again imo. I see Utah winning 44-46 games next year and making a serious push, but it's too close to call. They have a very good shot, I watched a few games after Godbert got the start and they're really good. Filthy defense. A lot of it will depend on how Exum develops, the chemistry between Favors-Gobert offensively, and whether or not they can find some depth in the offseason. People are sleeping on them...they were winning at a 54 win pace post all star break when Gobert got the start, with the #1 defense and it wasn't even close iirc.

Exum shouldn't be playing next season unless he improves a lot offensively. The tanking is over. It's time to compete!

No way. Utah is a solid young team that's getting better. Sacramento is a dysfunctional mess of the team

George Karl does have a track record but Cousins is the last guy I'd want to be building my team around.

If they play in the east sure, but in the west I don't know.. They have great frontcourt, but their backcourt and bench sucks.

HI'd like them too but they need players that can consistently score..
If Exum developed a reliable jumper in the off-season it would be really good for them.
Exum
Hood
Hayward
Favors
Gobert
Burks - 6th man, good offense, quick points
Burke - backup PG

I can see them getting the 8th. Their team is already good, they need to draft well and pick up some pieces in the off season.
Of course that this question involves unpredictable things like healthy and the outcome of the FA (If LMA or Gasol leave their teams, the West setup changes)

Certain to finish ahead of Utah:
Warriors
Rockets
Clippers
Thunder
Very likely to finish ahead of Utah:
Spurs (unless Duncan, Ginobili and Pop decide to retire)
Blazers (unless Aldridge leaves)
Grizzlies (unless Gasol leaves)
Likely to finish ahead of Utah:
Mavericks
Pelicans

They would have made it in the east this year and made some noise. Hood and Burks don't suck. Hood looked like he could be their 2nd best player behind Gobert. Needs to show he can stay healthy now. Neither does Booker if they bring him back. Ingles was good down the stretch as well if he comes back. Exum was great at the defensive end. Cotton looked like a player the final 4 games as well. Millsap looked like a defensive stopper. Great end of the bench defensive energy guy if he doesn't improve offensively.

Be plenty of points coming from Hayward, Favors, Hood and Burks.

RSM?

Burks should be their pg right now until they get someone else that can play. Hood might come off the bench until he can show he can stay healthy. Burke should be traded hopefully. He's a bad fit who was better as a rookie. Not a good sign.
they need to draft well
Hopefully they're not looking to the draft for immediate help. They need vets.

Very possible.
It depends on what teams like the Mavs, Suns, Pelicans, and Blazers do...
And honestly...you really can't count out the Kings with Karl and Cousins.
The West will go a legit 11 or 12 deep in terms real playoff contenders.
Hopefully they figure out a way to correctly seed the playoffs next year so we don't have to worry about a 48 win West team sitting at home to watch some scrub East team play.
