La di da di is ok but I prefer bedtime story.
Intro to the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air is a good call, is it considered a song though? That's like saying the intro to Sesame Street should be a song. But I can dig it

For me:
Ain't Nothing But a G Thang
Bust A Move
Just a Friend
Would be my go tos

for me it would be stuff like:

ain't no half steppin - big daddy kane
self destruction - stop the violins
my philosophy - KRS1
talkin all that jazz - stetsasonic
the symphony - marly marl

honoroble mention: any of dozens of PE songs, like bring the noise

You know the words to Self Destruction, it's like 20 dudes on that track. KRS 1 and Kool Moe stand out the most.

I'm from Philly and I wouldn't say that
3 x dope from west philly was arguably equal or better than will smith IMO.

also... irish rap! jump around by house of pain is just too legendary to block a top-5 spot for. (my bad) guess i gotta cut you, marly marl. :(

two more honorable mentions: de la soul and 3rd bass.

if only there was creativity in rap like that anymore. instead, nowadays it's a wasteland of kanye west and even worse, less-creative shitheads than that.

I exaggerated but I definitely heard of less than half of them. Some of these must be old as shit.

I feel you tho right now cuz I know of the songs but word for word cmon. I have other songs in my head now. I have heard thousands of songs in my life and I don't know very many of them word for word... I know the gist of most. Rap songs have a lot of content, too, moreso than say classic rock.
