View Full Version : 5 straight finals
except for lebron and james jones, who has been to at least 5 straight finals before besides that Boston teams 100 years ago.

James Jones didn't play a single minute in 2011, does that really count ?
He was injured when the Heat were down 0-1 to the Bulls in the ECF.

5 straight finals and only beat 5 good teams combined

If Lebron's 5 straight finals are basically no big deal..Why do Kobe fans seem so threatened by it? Because they seem to be the only ones who care about 2/5. Serious question by the way.

:wtf:
Context. It's not just the East being historically weak, he also joined forces with two other top players who were all in the East in their prime, thus weakening it even more. I really don't get this not looking at things with any kind of context philosophy on ISH.

Give the lecture all you like, you sound no less stupid doing so.

Yes but you need to put that into context and start honestly talking about that it's just nothing special and inflated as hell due to a historically weak Conference. 5 straight Finals sounds crazy good until you realize the shit competition he's faced and the fact that making 5 straight Finals in the West isn't happening in 2011, 2014 or 2015 and a 50/50 chance in 2012 and 2013. Now if the Cavs manage to upset the Warriors somehow without Love/Irving I will admit I was dead wrong. But when the best team you play in the East in 5 years is a young Bulls team with Rose literally shitting himself on the court in the conference finals...you've had a cakewalk. LeBron is one of the best ever no doubt, but that doesn't change the fact that he sure hasn't beat expectations winning 2 in 5 years.

here's to hoping that Silver pushes back the playoff reformatting for a bit later, hopefully when LeBron is like just an all star but no longer a top 5 player in the game.
Would be hilarious to see LeBron go something like 2/8 in the Finals and then never make them again after a playoff reformatting

Yeah, you guys have fun with your context circle jerks. If all you can do is apply opinion and wishy-washy "moving goalpost" criteria to what you're mistaking for honest, objective context...there's no real discussion to be had. Juuuuuust a circle jerk.

Lebron returned to Cleveland before they even got love...So it was basically Kyrie who couldnt even lead the Cavs to the playoffs in his first 3 years. Your argument is invalid.
Lebron could have signed with the 76ers and he would still get hated on for stacking his team with young prospects

lmao, he returned to Cleveland saying he was excited about the young talent on the team, specifically mentioning names but leaving out Wiggins and Bennett, who were both traded for Love who LeBron had already been talking with for some time.
so you can spin it however you want, he wasn't coming to Cleveland if they didn't pre agree to make that deal

How does a guy failing to make the playoffs his first 6 years without Lebron helps your argument? :oldlol:

thats all you that LeStans refer to Love as now?
just the way the West has been these past 6 years. Love is a good player in a conference with a shitload of great players.
I mean of the top 20 players in the league how many belong to the East? like 2-3?
"fact", Lebron's teams seemed "stacked" because he's on them, and makes his teammates better. Call it LeStat pad or whatever, but his teammates get open shots and love playing with him. He literally has dudes following him from team to team...

no they seem stacked because for the past 5 years he's been in the conference that has almost none of the top level talent, and when it did he just colluded with it

And thats coming from the guy who will be using the 2/6 stat to refer to James if he was to lose in the Finals...you cant make this up :applause:
And Cavs seemed to be doing just fine without Love against a 60 win team

All those smilies reaction to my posts like im Dave Chapelle on some comedy club shit...While actually all i did was state facts.
Yes the Hawks is the team im talking about. Referring to them as 60 win team was a way to emphasize the point of my post that its an elite team. Whats so hard to understand?
I could have called them the Spurs of the East if you prefer but thats not the point

just look at the all nba list for this year. lebron has 1 of the only other allnba player on his team. the other was on the bulls. the east has 3/15 allnba players

Thompsons been beasting on the offensive boards for a long time.. his hustle and ability to outplay two all star frontcourts was built on the back of pure offensive rebounding effort and defense.. jr just hit ridiculous shots.. em was going off even with bron out.
Two guys he's really made better are Shumpert and delly tho. Shumpert normally couldn't shoot for shit but with lebron feeding him perfect looks his whole game has been lifted.

You know they played on the USA team right? Bron knew how good Love was. Bron 100% knew the trade was going to go through before he signed.

Bruh, that's going to far. It's only fair to compare Lebrons success to 26 year olds like Durant, Curry, etc.

I don't understand how anyone can be proud of Lebron going to 5 straight finals, yet winning only 2 times.
With 2/6, that would mean Lebron has come in 2nd place 3 TIMES MORE THAN 1st place. LOL

He's face good Bulls teams where many people would pick the Bulls. He's faced good Orlando, Detroit, and Indiana teams...Not all time teams but he's faced and beaten good teams. I'm probably leaving out a few.

True, you're right about that. Thompson would be doing what he's doing on any team. But yeah, I mainly mean the shooters and guards like JR Smith, Shumpert, James Jones, Delladova, even Kyrie. He's taken a lot of pressure off of Kyrie and it allows Kyrie just go out and play his game and even take over if he needs to. Every team needs a great 1-2 punch.
