Very unfortunate game for one of the best NBA players.

No exaggeration, Harden tonight might've had the worst, most detrimental performance EVER at least from an elite player.

13 TO's and 2-11 from the field. Wasted 22+ possessions, had 5 fouls and only ended up scoring 14 points with 5 assists. 11 more turnovers than FG's made.

If he would've played at least an average game, the Rockets would've easily won, but every time they got close to taking the lead Harden managed to f*ck it up some how. What an awful performance.

Harden sure knows how to disappear during elimination games.

4 straight playoffs where he choked while exiting.

I'll be interested to see what stats guys come up with in terms of other awful performances from big time players. But right now... I can't remember seeing anything this unbelievably awful. I need to see what his turnover streak looked like in the second half. It seemed like he had six turnovers in nine touches at one point.

Harden need to take a LONG walk off a very SHORT pier. How embarrassing! And this idiot thought he deserved a MVP of the NBA. Nan-Ma.

After this performance plus the way he played by favorite team OKC, send his A** to the bench!! :rant :rant :banghead:

This series wouldve been a sweep with Klay playing well on offense and Hardon having a garbage series average if Kerr put Iggy and Barnes on Hardon instead of Klay:facepalm :facepalm

This post is underrated.

Four straight elimination game eggs. Worst in "mvp candidate player" history, period.

Get Jeremy Lin back to start at his place. Let him come off the bench.

Klay is not a really good defender yet, idk why Kerr kept putting Klay on Harden after game 1..... Iggy and Barnes are much better defender than Klay

Iggy is much better, Barnes is just much better at defending Hardon. Overall Klay is still better

For a moment I thought Harden surpassed Durant/Westbrook after his performance in these playoffs, but then he does shit like this.

It's not even about his talent or skills, he has plenty. It's just mentally he just disappears in tough games when the defense turns up. I saw so many times in that 1st quarter him snapping his head back like he got shot by a sniper, trying to get free throws. He finished strong couple times but then went back to chucking contested jumpers and flopping, and when he didn't get the call he stood around waving his arms at the refs while Golden State was pushing the pace. No intensity or focus, Westbrook/Durant show different kind of competitiveness.

My thoughts exactly. And it's not just the stats, but the effort. He was invisible in the second half. I really didn't know if he was in the game for most of it.

I know he was injured, but you're either healthy enough to play and contribute, or you're not and you take yourself out.

Yeah, but that was a weird elimination game. Josh Smith and the whole team gets blazing hot in the first quarter and they go up by 20 in the 1st quarter. Golden State's defense was slow and lazy all night. Not exactly your traditional elimination game environment with tons of pressure and important possessions.

I think he had a good post season overall but he needs to be more consistent and reduce his TOs. He had a great Gm #2 (despite the costly TO at the end) followed by a mediocre Gm #3. He scored 45pts to give HOU the win in Gm # 4 followed by an hideous Gm #5 performance where he set an nba record with 13 TOs while shooting 2/11 from the field.

Meh...he clearly ran out of gas and was facing fierce defensive attention on a team with not much else offensively when facing elite defense.

He had a great year and a very good playoffs.

The Rockets are legit. If they had Brooks and Montejunas they would have had a real chance to win the whole thing.

You know you are an elite player when you average 27/6/8 on 62% TS while leading a team to the WCF and being the only offensive threat on a team...and also get hate.

I don't really like Harden much and still think there are some flaws in his game/style, but there is no disputing that he's an elite top 5 or so player in the league.

This. I'm not a fan of Harden or his game but he is a very talented player and has huge impact.

It was a terrible game for him and an unenviable record to hold but one bad game doesn't define him.

Barring injury he will be elite for years to come and no doubt will have future playoff success.

And I don't even like the guy.:lol

Even the great Kareem had a game with 13 turnovers vs Lakers in the beginning of 1971-72 season. And he was a center, not a guard.

Dude, if anyone had 13 TOs and shot 2/11.. they would get a lot of hate. Especially in a do or die game. This isn't unfair treatment or something

Exactly. :lol

Derrick Rose could do that in his first game back from ACL surgery and would get flamed worse than Harden is for this. Any past/current MVP or MVP candidate would get destroyed for this.

Add the fact that Harden has a history of choking? Dude def deserves to get criticized.

This. TBH I feel bad for him. Not the ones he threw away, but those last few where he was getting straight up mugged, and dribbling off his foot. It was ugly. Then the airball? Jesus.
