View Full Version : Watching Harden has taught me to appreciate Prime Kobe

Sure Kobe is a ballhog, but at least he's creative when he ballhogs. All Harden does is dribble outside the 3 point line for 20 seconds before making a stupid contest shot or pass to someone else for a bailout.

Man I used to think in regular season that Harden = Prime Kobe, I was so damn wrong. They're not even close.

Kobe is like an American made car, alot of flaws, not that efficient, but strong and sturdy.

Harden is like a Japanese made car, smooth, efficient, but crumbles up as soon as it receives pressure.

Prime Kobe >>>> James Harden

Harden still hasn't peaked. He has practically no offese from 6-12 feet outside of that step back. In 2013, he didn't even have the step back, he was awful at the mid-range area. He got a lot better there. These next two years will be his peak. We'll see.

He needs a post game and a floater, badly. Very badly.

His longest playoff runs have all been 60%+ TS

But this isn't about consecutive finals, it's about efficiency

Obviously, Kobe is a much better player, but if we're talking about pure TS%, Harden is one of the GOATs

Correct, but that doesn't mean Bryant wasn't plenty efficient. It's just that Harden is one of the most efficient perimeter players ever.

It's amazing that Kobe got to the FT line as often as he did without trying so hard to do so compared with MJ, Lebron and Harden. He's been an outside shooter since his mid 20's yet defenders play him so tough

Really?
I don't see what you mean. He's Wade's size, plus an inch. Wade has a post game. Footwork, up fakes, jump-hooks. He's not even athletic anymore and he's effective from there.

A remainder

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGoxIvuPtmo

umm, his team quit in Game 6 when they gave up two wide open threes that led to the game-tying basket and playing 0 defense in OT...

beating the suns meant playing defense, Kobe wasn't going to outscore them by himself and he went on TV and said that he was trying to get his teammates involved instead of forcing the shots because they were getting killed on the defensive end, but nice try though.

Kobe shows up when times get tough, even if his team has no chance of winning..just look at his last Playoff game against OKC...42 points..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yG0hCqtghM

compare that to Harden's pathetic Game 5..

Kobe is more likely to show up in big games because he has so many ways he can beat you offensively..from getting to the line to bullying defenders in the post to pulling up from 30 to making big plays for his teammates

Harden is a one-trick pony and he got exposed for who he really is. You see the video I posted, look at the number of ways he scored his points with.. people that thought Harden was even half way as skilled as Kobe were kidding themselves.

2012 Kobe lost not even in the Conference Finals but in the semifinals 4-1

Kobe 32.2 PPG on 42 FG% and 11 3p%

Harden 28.4 PPG on 46 FG% and 43 3p%

And also Harden did this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEz32BBB6hk

And his team went to the conference finals with 4-1 in elimination games as the leader of his team at age 25.

Kobe and the Lakers are history.

James harden doesn't have the arsenal like MJ and kobe. No post game, no off ball movement, no catch and shoot.

The thing about Harden is that he relies so much on FT's. If he's not getting the calls or a particular team defends him well while keeping him off the line, he's not as potent.

Kobe will score in whichever way he can whether he's getting calls or not.

Where do you find this stat bro?

Pretty easy.

Jordan career points: 32292
Jordan career FGA: 24537
PPS: 32292/24537 = 1.316

Kobe career points: 32482
Kobe career FGA: 25087
PPS: 32482/25087 = 1.295

It's more like Jordan = 1.32 and Kobe = 1.3
