Bulls announce they have fired coach Tom Thibodeau.

Worst kept secret in the league is no longer a secret

Thibs to Lakers.

Byron's days are numbered.

Got exposed yet again for a shitty offensive game plan with plenty of options.

That said, Pelicans or Magic will probably pick him up.

We needed a change. He was not creative enough offensively. Hopefully our D, which regressed this season, won't suffer under a new coach.

oh the horror

No. I'm sorry but dude is overrated. Sure his defensive plans are good but his ability to manage minutes properly especially with older players stinks and his offense is trash

Thibs should pair with Dantoni.

Combined they are GOAT

I meant as one of Byron's assistants.

Just look at what the Gentry and Kerr combo have done to this league.

I doubt he'd wanna back track though , but who knows with all the horror stories The Bulls have been spreading about him if anyone will even take a chance on him as a Headcoach right now.

If he would only handle the defense then yeah that would be a hell of a catch.

He is part of the Riles coaching tree, just like Byron. It could work. :confusedshrug:

omg everyone gogogoggogogo pick him up! Man coaches in this league get ****ed. This is like Pop getting fired or something. Idk wtf some of you are talking about saying Thibs is overrated. He single handedly changes franchises with his defensive schemes. Would he work best with an assistant well versed in offense? Probably yes but still. You know with Thibs, you definitely getting to the playoffs. What other coach in the league (other than Pop) can you say that about right now?

Get back with Doc Rivers and go win another championship together.

About time. Dude is extremely overrated. Very good but not a championship head coach.

His offenses are predictable, simplistic, and downright laughable at times. He's incredibly stubborn with his rotations...if he likes you, he will play you extensively whether you suck ass or not. Even if you have potential, he won't play you until you either earn his trust or he's forced to because of injuries that are often caused by him.

His defenses rely on athleticism, intensity, and constant effort...which is pretty much impossible to sustain deep into the playoffs with how hard he coaches all the time. He treats every regular season game like it's game 7 of the finals regardless of how meaningless it is or how garbage the opposing team is, and it wears down every player physically, emotionally, mentally. He struggles to maintain a strong connection with his players because he is relentless with his drill sergeant approach and after a while the players are sick of it. There was a report that a bunch of the Bulls players train in the summer elsewhere not just for some change, but specifically to get away from Thibs.

He's been exposed in the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years, if we give him a pass in 2012. He's really not that great a coach. He needs to be a defensive assistant to a legitimate championship level two-way coach who can manage egos, make key adjustments at critical times, and knows both sides of the court well...someone like a Rick Carlisle.
