When are people gonna realize those are TEAM stats? North Americans seem to put so much value on championships when comparing players. On a world wide scale you rarely hear that argument brought up. Nobody defines Messi by how how times he's been to a finals and the percentage he's won. The freakin argument is getting tired. Especially the dough heads that post:
"6/6, that's all I need" :facepalm
It's an accomplishment, but the leader shouldn't take majority credit. Individual statistical achievement and value of a player when on a team then removed are a better indicator.

If championships is the bar by which we compare players then give Bill Russell the GOAT title.

I've heard plenty of people make that argument.
Sick, misguided, fools... but they still argued it.

Interesting that it's like that over there.
I would say the media is to blame...and not just about the Finals winning percentage but overall rings too.
But they gotta do what they gotta to get people to watch the Finals.
Not many people would watch if legacies weren't on the line.

is emphasized on Lebron because he's been pacified in the East. Getting all these allocates playing pathetic competition. It's similar to Floyd Mayweather.
If Lebron was in the West, do you really think he would make 5 straight finals? Lebron's Cavs would be 7th seed in the West right now.

The United States culture is built on rugged individualism and a heroic ethos. We have very little community spirit. We worship singular individuals, whether it's athletes, scientists, or technological pioneers. Even in team based settings we're looking to stab someone in the back to go up the ladder.
Just look at the movies we make.

Again, that's a team thing, the CAVS are pacified in the east.
On the flip side this solidifies Russell'sRussell ' argument since he had to go through Wilt Freakin Chamberlain to accomplish his feat.

I dont mind that "X of X in Finals" logic as long as those people OBIDE by it to 100% and hence dont contradict themselves... meaning the new top 10 is:
1. Bill Russell (11/11)
2. Sam Jones (10/10)
3. John Havlicek (8/8)
4. Tom Heinsohn (8/8)
5. KC Jones (8/8)
6. Tom Sanders (8/8)
7. Jim Loscutoff (7/7)
8. Frank Ramsey (7/7)
9. Robert Horry (7/7)
10. Bob Cousy (6/6)
Accept your logic to 100% or leave it.... up to you...

1.0, 0.71428, 0.4.
Let's multiply each by 100 and assign a letter grade, shall we?
100% = A+
71.428% = C-
40% = F
Wow 2/5 really fails at life. Maybe he should switch schools.
