Beautiful dog. I would consider adopting if I could.
Person or persons responsible need to suffer for this. Animal cruelty hits harder to home for me than crimes against other people. Animals are defenseless creatures and to do this to a dog is even sadder. Dogs have been domesticated to be our best friend and they are always loyal and love unconditionally.

Very sad, very unfortunate.
If the person was abandoning the dog they might have taped the muzzle just to prevent it from biting any strangers, not being smart enough to realize itd **** up the dog like that.
In any event, boy they put a lot of resources into tending to the dog. I know it said it came from a charity fund, but I mean Id probably have just put the thing down. I know its unfortunate but dogs are not humans, and there are a lot more where that one came from. But hey, if thats where you wanna donate your money it's certainly your prerogative. Just seems like an awful lot to put into some strangers dog, cute and sympathetic as he may be.

They have just as much of a right to live as humans do. We are supposed to be the wiser species, yet sometimes we are no better than the most rabid dog on the street.

Well sure, I'm just saying, it seemed in the article like they put a lot of time and money into treating a stray dog. Which, again, apparently came from a charity fund that dog-lovers donate to, so that's fine. I'm just saying... there's a lot of dogs out there. Seems like quite an investment to go through all that for every dog in distress.
But for sure I find the neglect and/or cruelty of dogs by their owners as detestable as anyone else.

you are correct to a certain extent. But remember it's a dog's innate personality to be loyal to its owner, so whatever the owner does to him, however he abuses him, he will usually not fight back. Animals in general are so helpless in this world. They either tough it out or die, they don't have a choice to "change" and adapt when you literally have people destroying their homes and hitting/killing them just for their own entertainment.
Humans on the other hand do have choices, they can get out of an abusive relationship, they can call the cops, they can retaliate. Those that don't are because they have issues.

Not the same thing. At all. This was deliberate. This was malice.
Some of the standards of meat factories have changed and improved over the years. But the goal at the end of the day was to kill the animal to provide food.
What was the goal in taping this dog's mouth shut?
