The Hawks. If an injured Atlanta team could push Indiana the same year to 7 games, how can a team at its peak lose ?

Was gonna say in before somebody mentions, "but, but, they didn't have Horford", while ignoring how that would have changed the strategy and Roy wouldn't be getting pulled out the 3 point line by Mike Scott and Antic. Its not as simple as saying, well, Horford wasn't there.

The best series would be 13' November Pacers vs 15' January Hawks. In the playoffs both teams stank.
It would come down to HCA, IMO. Pacers in 7 or Hawks in 6.

Well, they can both shoot 3's. You can't just let them stand out there wide open and shoot so Roy has to try to get out there which of course, he can't...Leaves the defense scrambling..

I would've laughed at this question before the playoffs started but I'm not sure anymore. Two teams that really peaked at the wrong time :facepalm

Yeah, its crazy. I really thought the Hawks were going to the Finals, I didn't think they'd lose to the Cavs.....Combination of injuries, nobody really took over down the stretch and Lebron. I thought the Hawks would beat Lebron because they had a better overall team with more people contributing, same reason I thought the Pacers would finally beat them, not a one man team, more people to contribute but its hard to beat a team with a superstar...Even the role players just play with more confidence.

I haven't seen Shumpert play with that type of confidence in like forever.

Hmmm...I think the Hawks just matchup well with the Pacers. But I can see this.

I guess the question remains, is what caused the peaks and subsequent collapses for both teams? I mean the Pacers will probably be broken up, but could the Hawks win 55-60 games next year? I think so.

Losing thabo really destroyed the hawks. If he was healthy the hawks would probably handle the pacers easily like they always seem to do lately.
