View Full Version : Indisputable proof that by in large, Lakers fans are delusional assholes.

The Warriors, who opened at 25-1 for the NBA title, got steady support all year, though Sherman said the SuperBook made plenty of money off the Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs -- and, believe it or not, the Los Angeles Lakers.

"In terms of the number of tickets we wrote, the Lakers were in our top five up until the All-Star break," Sherman said.

Granted not ALL of Lakers fans fall into this category but the fact that the Lakers were in the top 5 in terms of people betting on a team to win it all screams and is indisputable proof that Lakers fans are almost all a bunch of delusional assholes... in short... don't waste any time arguing with or even debating any basketball related subject with a Lakers fan.

I mean seriously... how ****ing crazy or stupid do you have to be to think the Lakers had a shot at the title this year? It's also a guarantee they won't in the coming year, either. It's not a knock... it's reality.

At least the Lakers have a long history of winning by grabbing star players out of nowhere. What's New York's excuse?

That's not what this thread is about. Additionally, we are talking about percentages. No way that Knicks fans or sixers fans, for example, were betting in massive numbers on their team to win the finals all the way up to the all star break.

Think about it, what if they pull 07-08 again and get a big time player?
The odds were probably through the roof, if you put a few dollars on that, you don't really lose anything and if a miracle happens you probably become something close to a half a millionaire

At the end of the day the Lakers and the Rockets did the same this year: didn't win the title.

Next thing you know this guy will be celebrating Harden's playoff TO record and spamming this gif.

when you factor in injured seasons

2003 - torn shoulder/knee in playoffs
2004 - recovering all season
2005 - out half the season
2008 - broken hand/dislocated pinky finger/torn ligaments
2011 - torn knee
2013 - achilles
2014 - broken leg
2015 - torn shoulder

and then factoring in coming off the bench ( not counting )

1997
1998

that leaves

1999 - lost
2000 - won title
2001 - won title
2002 - won title
2006 - lost
2007 - lost
2009 - won title
2010 - won title
2012 - lost

5 out of 9 kobe wins the title healthy/starting

babe ruth is the greatest baseball player ever = 1 mvp in 20 years

kareem is arguably the greatest basketball player ever = 2 fmvps in 20 years ( russell = 0 fmvps.. and hes also arguable goat )

and like i said... kobes really only played 9 years without injuries/starting

and half of those the media took away any shot at mvp for kobe or shaq cause they had each other

was michael jordan the best player in the nba only 5 years?

Most people who make sports bets don't actually know what they're doing... Lakers are a big name, everybody has heard of them and the reputation that they have of winning titles

people go to vegas, they make bets because they can not because they're all big time sports gamblers so they see the board, see the odds on teams like the Lakers and place a few bucks on them just because the name and the odds make it seem like an attractive bet....

Didn't understand a word, I'm not fluent in lottery. But judging by the pic I'm guessing you're making fun of the Knicks for getting the 4th pick in the draft, yes? Ah, I see.

You've mistaken me for a NY fan, Real14 perhaps?

Look at the Lakers fanbase, it's the largest in ISH, even if they team loses 60 games, not jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon like depraved freaks.

That is loyalty, respect and class, concepts this board will sadly never grasp.

I'm not sure if you know how betting works. Some books were giving really crazy odds on the Lakers. A friend of mine threw five bucks on it because in the off chance that they did win the payout was so huge. I think lots of people just see the name Lakers and the crazy odds and threw money at it without knowing much about the sport. About four games into the NFL season last year there were some pretty great odds for the Pats to win it all.
