Got into an argument with my friend last night over who's better. I prefer Curry cause of the all around package, but he did make the comment that he thinks '01 Iverson had the same praise and adulation as Curry did this year.

What do you think?

Curry and it's not even close. AI was just an inefficient chucker.

Funny, I actually thought about this argument coming up on here too.

iverson was better at creating his own shot, drawing fouls, breaking people down off the dribble without needing a screen, way way waaaay faster, took tougher hits, was more alpha, had a better look, better marketing power, more popular, bigger name, more style

but hes a cancer and never won shit

currys a positive to a team. so i take curry

I'd take Curry because his overall game, even though there aren't too many guys that can score like '01 Iverson.

Come on. I know people sometimes get way too caught up in the efficiency argument, and I can understand it being next to useless comparing 2 guys who shoot 46% and 48% with similar 3 point percentages and free throw percentages, but in this case, it's just too large a gap. Iverson was taking 26 shots and 10 free throws to score 30. Curry is taking 9 less shots, and 6 less FTs to hit 24.

That's a difference of almost 9 possessions to score 6 more points. And you can't make the argument either that if Curry shot more his efficiency would plummet, because well, just look at the way he plays. He takes shots that make you want shake your head, and yet they're nothing but net. He takes them off the dribble, he takes them driving through big men, he takes them off the outlet pass, he scores in every way imaginable. I don't think you can argue Iverson over him right now.

What do you think?

If I had just one guy that was worth a shit on the team like with Philly? Iverson.

If I had a team of good players like the Warriors? Curry.

Both teams would be worse if you swapped those players around.

When I hear things like AI was just an Inefficient chucker I'm reminded of how brutally unappreciated Iverson's prime was on here...

Curry but it's close.. Iverson would be pretty nasty in this era, where he'd live at the line and wouldn't get beaten up every time he drove.

Curry easily. FAR MORE effective scorer than Iverson
