I think it's a good hire if they couldn't grab Thibs.

Davis will benefit greatly from Gentry's offensive schemes.

Good. Thibs would run Davis into the ground.

Why Masai ? Why hold onto Casey and not get a chance at this ?

I actually wouldn't mind Thibs as a defensive coach, for any team really. He's had his best success as a defensive coordinator.

True, in that case I will take Thibs everytime over Casey but it's not likely to happen.

Gentry isn't going to be successful as a head coach without defensive masterminds next to him.

You could say that about most coaches these days though, they all need a strong team of assistants behind them

Good for Gentry, but he strikes me as the type of coach who is better suited as an assistant.

Gentry isn't going to be successful as a head coach without defensive masterminds next to him.Lacob will pay to keep him next season, but Gentry should try to convince Ron Adams to come with him to New Orleans.

Been saying it for weeks- the Gentry & Ron Adams combo would be the best available option (in all likelihood) to get the Pellies to the next level.

Wait so the Warriors has the Finals ahead of them and Gentry interviewed for a new job at this juncture??

Not a bad hire, I don't see much improvement. About 9-7 in the West. Gentry does better as an assistant. He's not terrible though.
