Or will this not make the headlines?

Unfortunately, that depends entirely on if he's black or not.

How do you jump out of a 2nd story window to threaten a cop?
Story seems fishy. "Cop I'm about to threaten, just let me jump 20 feet down to get to you ..."

Huh? what do you mean by 2.6? Women are equals, DonD, not worth 0.6 of a man.

It was a good shoot. Guy already attacked the cop once, who sounds like he was alone. He tried 2 different non-lethal weapons that failed and he ended up in a physical confrontation. Guy got out of it and rushed the cop again. Cop wasn't going to give this drugged out idiot a chance at getting hold of his weapon a 2nd time.
If his friends really gave a crap about him, they would have helped the cop subdue him. But they didn't, so they have only themselves to blame. It's not clear if the cop was white, and the dead dude isn't black so there will be no riots, but there will obviously be a few protests on campus. Then everyone, except for his family will forget about him in a month.

Thats why pus*sy ass cops shouldnt be hired to respond to emergency situations...
How you gonna try to be a law enforcer but you cant even handle a small teenager without your gun? Let alone the fact that he was drunk, weakened by the fall from the 2nd floor and all the cuts from the glass :facepalm

He was neither small(look at his Facebook page) nor a teenager. Do you just make these facts up as you go along? :facepalm But even if he was. Police aren't going to just let people repeatedly attack them. The cop didn't know if the guy was drunk, on drugs, had mental issues, or a college student with a 3.9 GPA. He just saw some maniac jump through a freakin glass window covered in blood and attack him. Even then he tried non lethal measures, but the guy kept coming.
I don't know what planet you live on but from the info we have, this was a justified shooting. Unless some new game changing reports come out, I guarantee you this cop will be cleared.

He was 20 years old...its basically 1 year removed from his teenage years. And nowhere did it say he attacked the police officers so im not sure where you come from with the ''repeatedly attack''. Seems like you're the one making up facts. It did say he was moving towards them and wasnt responding but is that a good enough reason to shoot an unarmed young man? His friends called 911 to get him some help after he jumped out the 2nd floor, not to get a cop to go out there and finish him off :facepalm

It said he was advancing on the officer and "threatening" him, literally "told him he was going to attack him". Or do you think he was rushing the cop to shake his hand?

You said he got in a physical altercation with the cop twice and he didnt wanna risk the guy attacking him a 2nd time and going for his gun again...Like i said where do you get this info from? Stop making up bullshit please
Also learn the difference between an attack and a threat

What is it with these pathetic arguments? His age is completely irrelevant: being young does not excuse you from recklessness, nor does it make you any less capable of committing crimes - how old was Adam Lanza again?
Young men, statistically, are the biggest threat - so why do people like you keep acting like anyone below the age of 25 is a precious little bunny in need of protection?
Stop with the age bullshit, seriously.
oh the horror

Witnesses claim he was not attacking the officer but in distress and obviously hurt from the fall when he jumped through a window down 2 stories.
This is all very unfortunate as the kid was obviously out of his mind but I feel like officers are employing deadly force to deal with too many situations.
I've never had a mushroom trip like that before. Good lord

His age is very relevant actually...Do you know why there is different sentencing between minors and adults? The maturity level just isnt the same for teens and adults.
That doesnt mean the guy couldnt commit a crime but what did he really do that warranted him to get shot?

No it isn't. He was either a threat enough to shoot or he was not - a 20-year old is just as capable of killing as a 40-year old, and if i'm dealing with my own safety, the age of the person threatening it is utterly irrelevant to me.
Whether what he did warranted getting shot is a different issue, and is unrelated to his age.
