He is from an unknown school but he is a baller, great at PnR and complements Westbrook in ways Reggie couldn't. He is not tall but has +7" on his wingspan so he has some tools to work with on the defensive end. He is a good passer especially during fast breaks, can also shoot the 3 well which is another positive for OKC's offense.

Reggie Jackson 2.0
If they could get a player equal to Reggie's output his first few seasons off the bench I'm sure OKC would consider that a win considering how high they will be picking him..

They wouldn't be expecting some star with this pick.

Really smooth lefty who is a VERY great passer especially on the fastbreak. Also can shoot. Better upgrade at the PGSG backcourt with Russ than Jackson would ever be

Lol @ Cartman. You can't spin this any other way.

If OKC somehow draft this kid, they're easily taking the title next year. I don't even see a team putting up a fight.

Why would they draft a PG when they already have Westbrook?

They need a backup PG and Westbrook has the size/strength to run as a SG.

Cameron Payne
Sam Dekker
Devin Booker

I'd be happy with any of those three.

You are right.

He isn't gonna be as good as Reggie Jackson.

Payne assures OKC he would rather play in a REAL city.

Payne has been my #1 choice for the Rockets at #18 since.... the order was set in stone.

Since Durant, OKC rarely screws up with their 1st round draft picks so I would probably give them my blind faith.

What is the benefit in announcing picks early tho? Doesn't it give your oppisition something else to consider? And or highlight potential they may have overlooked?

Exactly what I thought. Especially with a team like the Thunder with a track record of good picks.

These players are news to us casual fans, you bet they have been on the radar of any respectable NBA scout. Teams follow their own picks to fix their weaknesses first then consider other matters, Suns don't need another PG, actually I don't see any team up to five picks above who are in dire need of one. Besides, this is a deep draft and there are many other good players for teams with higher picks or even OKC to choose from, I can see the Thunder doing equally well by drafting a good SG or SF.

Went and watched his draft express interview and some of his workouts...

He is going to develop into a monster behind Westbrook, looks like a future star PG.

His WS is seven inches longer than his height? :confusedshrug:
Height: 6' 0.75"
WS: 6' 7.25"

Who knows why, maybe they're bluffing. The kid seems to have potential though. Good thing their targeting for an actual pg that is willing to pass for a change

Booker :(

But yeah....Payne's a talented PG...and a good long term backup for Russ.

I still think getting a 3 & D guy this summer is a priority

Yep, a shooting guard and a serviceable backup are necessary as the conference keeps getting deeper.
