Move to LA. Get Courtside seats to every LeBron finals game. Help my family that I actually care about...sorry cousins. Not donate a nickel to charity. I'd change my phone number ASAP and if I really ever gave a shit about you, I would hit you up in a couple months after winning.

Invest in Apple, become a billionaire
Buy a house, security guards
Exotic cars
Open businesses, hire family and friends, have them set for life
Donate to charities, particularly Africa

I found myself playing as well.. I just didn't feel right not playing. It's only a $1. What's there to lose? I sleep at night with the "hey you never know" feeling.

Edit: You guys do know millionaires and billionaires don't have physical money right? Everything is invested usually in stocks or property. They earn the money through liquidating stocks or property. They don't store their money in banks because that'll be the dumbest move. Inflation and shit like that.

Invite everyone that's on ISH to a private cruise, then toss money at them to fight each other my own personal octagon. Whoever comes out alive, I will hand them the keys to Insidehoops.com after I buy it.

That is not the only reason for not storing money in the bank, apart from the fact that inflation devalues your money yearly, as you stated, in case the bank goes bankrupt, see 2008, depending on territory you're only insured to get back up to 300 000 dollars, again this depends on your place of residence, so your one billion could turn into 300 000 dollars in one night if they are stored in a bank.

The inflation has been at 1 % monthly for US dollar the past 10 years, so the loss is manageable considering you could make a lot bigger losses on just about any investment, there is no such thing as a safe investment without inside information.

So bottom line is, the inflation is apart of the reason but the biggest reason for not keeping your money in a bank is because it could actually bankrupt.

As for me? Probably invest in housing, buy an island and invest.

250mil USD? And without any taxes?

Well first I'd do everything to keep it out of the media.

As far as what I'd do with it:
Buy family and friends bunch of stuff+Save 50mil for my sisters/family
Donate like 50-100mil to select charities/hospitals (SickKids mainly)
Pay for my ex and some friends' tuition fees/student loans
Buy ISH, upgrade it and make it all pretty and uptodatey
Invest and bank what I have left

Maybe get a ps4.

I'd like to reiterate one of my statements here, I said the loss is manageable, which is actually utter bullshit, the loss is actually considerable short and long term especially with that kind of money, but I am just saying, in case of a financial crisis, which seems to hit on average every ten year, you're better of with your money in gold, land or housing, shit that always seems to bounce back no matter what.

Pay off all families' debts.

Start a business so nobody is wondering why I have all these cars and a big ass house.

Donate almost half to a charity that I start.

The reason I would donate the money because winning this amount is a curse. What are you going to look for in life when you are given so much. It is an ambition killer. Winning this amount happens to a few people in history. All this good coming your way you should expect bad luck that comes with it.

I could be one heck of a drug lord with just 100K, but that's too risky.

I could only imagine a life where everyday for the rest of my life I could get high. One could only dream...
that's exactly where you're headed in life though... :confusedshrug:

I actually put some thought into this and I think I'd go to a lot of Orlando Magic games.
Also, to fight feminism I could create a corporation where I house young girls who are on the streets or being actually being oppressed or working as sex workers. Basically I'd do the thing that feminists claim they do but don't and teach the kids hard work and shit like that. Would also have one for boys too.
Damn. Someone gimme 250 mil

Unfortunately, he has neither.

Actually, I visited Jam (real name Samuel, or Sam, yeah I know it rhymes) when me and two friends did a roadtrip from New York to west Texas, he lived a bit secluded he and his family, but boy was their house fancy. I don't know the prices in an rural areas such and I never got the chance to ask his father about the real estate market, we only had a brief conversation. His mother was nice though, great cook.

Jam, or Sam, as I call him, isn't rich, but he works part time in a farm as a henchman, boy, it was actually quite the sight when I first saw him, he was topless caring for the horses of his employer and actually throwing a bottle of water over his face, I swear straight out of a movie scene. So, yeah he may not have money, but he lives a very comfortable life, and tops it of by working part time after school, it is these kind of young ambitious people we need in society today.

That's actually an interesting approach.

I would definitely hire someone or ask someone for financial advice. Maybe my Dad. If I have 250mil, I want to help as many people as I can, help people I know and love and make them happy, while still bank and invest a few million so I that I'm still living comfortably.

How much can 250mil really do?

Help people is the cheesiest answer, as soon as you get rich you'll realize how many you'll help you still leave billions helpless. It is pointless.

1. Pay off all debts/tuition/etc. for my extended family.
2. Give $2.5M to each adult family member in my entire extended family.
3. Give $500K each to my closest friends.
4. Move back home closer to friends and family and buy a nice penthouse (in Toronto) and a couple of cars/bikes/etc. $5M
5. Buy real estate locally in the short-term.
6. Travel the world. Move to a city for a year, buy a house and more real-estate and keep doing it all over the world. Have a house and properties in all the largest cities in the world. 15-20 cities with $5 to 10M in each city.

First thing: no media attention whatsoever.

I'd donate some of it, give a few gifts to a small circle of close family members and friends...then I'd marry my girl, build a new house out here (I've already designed it because...I'm a nerd) and spend the rest over time. I'd try to see to it that the majority of it is either gone before I die; I have no interest in leaving behind a bunch of wealth for vultures to fight over when I'm gone. My kids certainly won't inherit a shit-ton of wealth; just enough to remind them that they still have to work for a living if they want to be comfortable.

Not surprised.

As for the hypothetical, I'd use $200 million to set up a charity foundation that would help kids with cancer by anonymously paying all their medical costs. I'd use the rest to travel, spend quality time with friends and family around the world. I'd buy a nice boat and a Tesla, but other than that I wouldn't splurge on too many things.

I'd probably move to either LA or NY and just enjoy the rest of my life. But I'd definitely move to a megacity where nobody really gives a shit that you are rich. Staying in a smaller city or your hometown is an easy way to fall into the trap of allowing other people to get their hands in your pockets.

That is after giving my dad enough money to retire and do whatever he wants for the rest of his life of course.

100K to everyone in my family including 1st cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents. Probably around 250K to immediate family(2 siblings, 2 parents).

I'd also take care of my closest friends. After I had given out this designated amount, everyone would be cut off, no matter what.

After that, and making sure me and my wife/child's future were secure, I'd pretty much do whatever I wanted. Buy a few nice houses, travel a lot, go to school for something fun(film?, philosophy?) and invest in a few causes that are important to me. Probably throw some money at elections.

this is imho, the smartest road to take, you invest around 200m into real estate, build apartments and lend it out, pretty much guranteed money for the rest of your life.

Probably donate most via low income educational endowments. Buy a few dream guitars and amps, nice car, modest house, travel, build a sick computer...

Would probably shorten my life by about 15 years from excessive cholesterol and liver disease.
