Modern Family is easily better. Black-ish is pretty funny quite often, but they also have some super annoying characters, primarily the twins. The oldest sister is not funny (though plays a regular teen well), Laurence Fishburne's role is unnecessary (I think the producers know this and don't even have him every episode episode), and the frequently appearing grandmother is annoying. The parents and the oldest son are good, but the office scenes are the best, particularly Dion Cole's lines.

Modern fam is great but offers nothing new, it's become bland.

Black-ish doesn't play it as safe, and their social commentary is spot on without being preachy. I really dig how they resolve shit.

Pretty much agree with this. Didn't know they were twins though. The funniest parts are with Dion and sometimes the oldest boy.
