Seems Like a Player Similar To Elgin Baylor.

True, only bigger

Elgin I believe was 6-5 without shoes 213-236lbs

Stokes I believe was 6-6 without shoes 232-275lbs

It's a damn shame what happened to him. Like what's been said, he reminds me Baylor and Barkley

Where did you get is out of shoes height?

I inferred it based on how St. Francis Newspaper Articles used to describe him and how Jack Twyman used to describe him in the 1960's.

Twyman also calls him 6-7 and 6-8 in more recent interviews but basically I think the lowest number used, the 6-6 number, is likely his actual height based on all the numbers used. He was listed 6-6 at St. Francis, and 6-7 in the NBA.

I wonder what he would have been like in the 60s. His FG% was atrocious, but that was kind of par for the course during his time in the NBA. I would like to think that as time went on his game would have become more efficient because he had the skills of a more modern player.

The players games reflect the rules and trends of the times. His accuracy is relatively where it should be for his time - he's relatively as efficient a scorer as a power forward like Pau Gasol is today.

Good stuff, seemed like he had talent.

Sad story though

Jack Twyman :applause:

His rebounding-passing combination, especially in his 3rd season, is unreal, it's basically beaten only by peak Wilt: 18.1 ppg, 6.4 apg in 39 mpg. 2nd rebounder to Russell and 3rd passer, with leader Cousy only averaging 0.7 apg more.

I think I'm going to do a quick George Mikan mix next.

Consider Clyde Lovellete also if you get the chance. His game surprised me back when I made a little highlight of him.

Simply stunning. I've been waiting a long time for this. Thank you so much.

Much of the footage I had never seen before.

I have the following original press photo framed in my office:

It goes nicely with his rookie card:

And of course Jack Twyman's autograph, which he said just a year or so before he too passed away:
