Now I know there are certain white dudes who don't give a fvck (like Italians, some of them crazy country boy rednecks, etc) but in general, are whites intimidated by blacks? As a Mexican, I can't fathom that, and I was actually mugged as a 13 year old by a 20 something year old black guy, all he got was my cheap watch :lol Another time, the neighborhood bully, a kid with the body of Bo Jackson, stole my bike when I was 15, he eventually returned it though.

Even after all of that, I don't feel intimidated by blacks, I'll even go into liqour stores where there are shady looking black dudes loitering outside :confusedshrug: I've gotten into altercations with black dudes and I've more held my own. Another thing, I grew up in multi-racial neighborhood in SE Chicago, I also lived in SoCal, in the Inland Empire...in speaking with black friends and co workers, they've told me that they consider whites as pushovers, not so Latinos, what do you guys think? I'd say no, in general. Most white guys in recent generations (I'll say 16-40) that grew up playing sports or music in modern communities think nothing of it. People who grew up sheltered or segregated might be different. Any sensible person knows better than to fear an entire race, that doesn't mean there aren't individuals who meet stereotypes that can alarm you. In a control environment in a public setting (ie a mall.) Probably not. But in other situations I think the media has overblown stories about violent attacks committed by black people and are led that young black males are violent and to stay away. Obviously economic situation is a bigger factor.

I wouldn't fear black people in a middle-class suburb. Sometimes I fear these white wannabe gangsters teens more that are out to prove a point how hard they are. But I would fear to be the only white guy in the "hood" (although I am told that the natives sometimes think that these random white guys are cops and usually stay away from them. :D) and I wouldn't want to be the only white kid in an all black school.
