Throughout time all the narratives, the talk about "legacies" and whatnot...throughout history we've made legends and heroes out of athletes, but do we overdramatize sports?

I understand when you're talking about cultural iconic athletes like Muhammad Ali and Jackie Robinson, and to an extent MJ, but what other athlete is worthy of such legendary status?

At the end of the day, sports is just a game. So do we make too much of it?

Well I think it's that way because mainly of young kids. They idolize athletes and to some, it's their true role model in life depending on the family situation.

And then for people like me, who breathes basketball, it's just a passion. And to witness the insane skill these guys in the NBA have just makes me watch in awe. Without a doubt we do put players on a pedestal too much, as they're just like you and me. It's just something that comes with the territory I assume.

it's that way because leagues, sponsors, and networks make great money off of heroes; villains too
