Good? Bad? Doesn't make any difference?

Say, your team was struggling and the coach got canned... would you be okay with the GM coming down to the sidelines? Would you be okay with it as a long-term solution? Miami and Knicks fans probably would. Who else?

Does it say anything about the person?

I thought of this thread after reading the one about Flip sanders on Okafor over Towns.

It lead me to thinking about Doc... Good guy. Good coach. The coach thing is key with Doc. He's not separating the two jobs. Dude has little concern for any long term ramifications that result from his personnel decisions. 2 drafts, 2 summers of free agency, and what do the Clippers have to show for it? Now, I'm wondering if this is just a turn of unfortunate events or maybe Doc really works best when having an Ainge or someone with the foresight to understand the real cost of that Hawes move in relation to the salary cap not just today but in the following years.
