Glenn Robinson? (he came out of semi-retirement but he was still averaging solid numbers the year before)

Are you using this as a reason we won't land one this time?

The real question is when did we last make an actual real push at one?

Rookie post tbh

Why is everyone mad? It's not like the Spurs are gunning for big name FAs all the time.... and they have 5 rings and 15 straight 50+ win seasons. :confusedshrug:

True. They might as well be the Cavs. I consider their franchise history at equal levels.

Their play has always been team ball.....don't think they ever tried to lure a big name

OKC with zero rings and you're criticizing a team with 5 in the last two decades for not repeating?

Why are you getting so defensive? This wasn't an agenda-driven thread. I legitimately wanted to know.

Never needed it. Does Robert Horry count, because he basically got us a ring?

Otherwise I wouldnt say we've ever gotten anyone that significant out of free agency. Belielli was a big signing for us two offseasons ago.

they would have repeated if they played in the East.

such is life playing in the Bestern Conference.

Except that in the years they could've repeated... an East team won.. CONVINCINGLY

just saying.. not gonna argue that east>west.

Also, they will still play a West team.... :confusedshrug:

Stupid logic, doesn't mean they would have won because they would have fought a tougher team in the West.

ah good call! Well even with trades, Spurs haven't picked up a big piece in like...Duncan's entire career.

those are all role players though. Maybe you could argue finley wasnt but even then he was old. No big names ever go to SA. Its been all draft

Still, Spurs win with NO big names or big name acquisitions! Players acquired cuz a great scouting!

That's kind of irrelevant, as the point is that's it's a lot harder to make the finals in the first place out in the West.

He has continually resigned. Even when he was a FA.

Finley and Horry, in name.

Hope the streak of not signing a marquee players continues, tbh.

Spurs would be dumb to not and try to at least get Garnett.

Finley is one. They even said that they needed to win the ring for Michael.

I don't count that. Playing half a season for a bad 76ers team and only averaging 16ppg then only playing 9 games for the Spurs the following season. That is not "marquee."
