Am I supposed to be impressed if Lebron makes the obvious, wide-open pass to #20 Mosgov above and say he passes like Magic?

This is why I can't respect today's player as much - they play an easier version of the game - the spacing makes passing, cutting, scoring, moving, literally EVERYTHING easier on offense.

Lebron's obvious passes amongst the wide open spacing is not as impressive as what Magic, Bird or MJ did, and never will be.. :confusedshrug:

I don't get why you're knocking on a guy for the way his team plays.. and I don't even like Lebron.

Why am I knocking him?.. Because the only aspect of scoring that he's elite is drive-and-kick, which depends on 3-point shooters spacing the floor.. Lebron's game depends on spacing.. So how would he do if there were NO shooters spreading the floor (previous eras)?... Worse, obviously.

Also, to be a great scorer in the no-spacing eras, you simply HAD to be great at mid-range.. Literally every great scorer in previous eras was a great mid-range player.. The lack of spacing prevented players from getting in the paint anytime they wanted, so guys HAD to settle for mid-range (see example GIF above, where MJ is forced to settle for mid-range).

But Lebron is a HORRIBLE mid-range shooter (literally 35%), so how would he be a great scorer in previous eras??.. It's simple - he wouldn't be.

Both Bran and MJ suck.

Mike Bibby is the GOAT

Let me prove it with Gifs

Dude, you've made this thread before. Bump your old post you inbred.

You've made like 10 Lebron threads now. You're obsessed. No one needs to hear anymore of this shit.

Reported for spamming, and not bumping one of your other threads that are exactly like this.

Spacing is a good thing, makes the game better. Why are you so mad that there are more good shooters in today's game?

I don't think anyone claims he has the court vision of Magic. However, in terms of point forwards not named Magic, he's the best there is.

Bird's the GOAT point forward.. Even MJ averaged more assists than Lebron:

PLAYOFF AVERAGES THRU 30 YRS OLD:

JORDAN: 35 PPG / 7 APG / 50% FG
LEBRON: 28 PPG / 6 APG / 48% FG

FINALS AVERAGES THRU 30 YRS OLD:

JORDAN: 36 PPG / 8 APG / 53% FG
LEBRON: 24 PPG / 6 APG / 46% FG

Lebron's passing has ALWAYS been overrated... Especially since he dominates the ball as much as point guard... 6 APG is UNDERACHIEVING for anyone dominating the ball like a point guard.. :confusedshrug:

MJ was a guard and the GOAT.

Bird played in a faster paced, higher FG% era. No doubt Bird was an incredible playmaker for his position, Lebron's still better than him in terms of court vision.

I do think Bird is the better overall scorer. It would be harder to shut down Bird than Lebron. Bird's defense is also underrated, but Lebron's is still a lot better.

Court vision: Lebron
Scoring: Bird
Rebounding: Tied
Defense: Lebron
Leadership: Bird

I think it's pretty even, it could be argued either way.

I agree with this. He does have great court vision, but his APG is not impressive for a SF playing PG most of the time. And more than half of his assists go to a player who has to take a contested 3-pointer with 2-3 seconds left on the clock. I'd give majority of the credit to the shooter in that case.

He's not. He's saying that this era has a watered down offense and the supposed best player in the league has a much easier time passing as opposed to say what MJ had to deal with. Hard to debate when all the evidence is there.

Except there has been no indication that any of what you said is true, anyone can pick out a moment where every player has an open passing lane. And since when is one picture "all the evidence":facepalm
