So this thread is where you can post any thoughts you have on the Finals that concern schemes, defense, matchups. Stuff like that.

From the first half my thoughts are:

Cleveland does not benefit from going small against GS as much as I thought they would. GS having Green or Iguadala guarding LeBron allows them to keep up speed wise.

Cleveland has double teamed the ball handler on lots of pick and rolls so far, and it has killed them.

Tristan Thompson.

That is all.

Seriously though, he's just having his way on the offensive glass. Mozgov's been a solid defensive presence as well. The big men battle I think is going to be the less recognized aspect because of the Curry/LeBron narrative.

The Good Warriors finally showed up in overtime. All because they started playing defense.

They can't run offense for shit if they don't make defensive plays.

Cavs had something good with Kyrie LeBron two man game. Getting the switch to put Klay on LeBron was money for them. Too bad to see Kyrie go down, hopefully he'll be good for Game 2.

Didn't really think it helped much for the Cavs to bring James Jones off the bench when GS had Green at the 5, let Thompson and Mozgov eat them boards and show size inside.

Anyways, hope Kyrie can come back to play.

Some people will rag on Bron for the last minutes and OT but he played a very good, agressive game.

GSW are just better... thats it...

However, i think the reffs ultimately won this game, Mozgov should have been credited for that lay in which would have won the game.... instead it was called a travel, which it was very clearly not...

As far as Lebron goes, what could you possibly ask more from Lebron? To hit all shots? To score 60-100?

He brought Jones off the bench because it was apparent that the team's shooting was haywire. It didn't work out though, obviously..

Need more out of role players Much rather Lebron have Double Digit assists and 25-30 points with 10-12 assists than Game he had tonight.

Cleveland seems to have a slight advantage when they are playing with two bigs and GS stays big.

When GS downsized, Cleveland was not able to punish them on offense, and their small ball has not been effective.

The final play of regulation also left lot to be desired.

A Kyrie-LeBron pick and roll would have freed up one of them.

Even a LeBron-Mozgov per would have been better than LeBron pulling up for a step back 3.

Overall, good game. Cleveland has to run more misdirections, straight isos are well and good when LeBron is hot and scoring in the 40s, but that probably won't last like was shown in overtime.

That is no excuse when Cleveland was so close and could have won the game with 7 seconds remaining. A better play should have been called.

And Cleveland needs to figure out what they will do against GS's bench. It has out scored Cleveland's Kyrie-Smith-Shump-Jones=Thompson lineup. That was on of the deciding factors. I believe GS was +8 against them.

That was a bad call but they should have set up a better play to end the 4th. They had all the time in the world.

That final play at end of regulation is what ultimately cost them this game. Not the bad call.

The Warriors bench this year is as great as the Spurs bench last year, minus the gaudy three point shooting percentages.

A few thoughts on the game.

Mad respect for Kyrie. He was ballin' out before he went down. That block on Curry showed great heart.

Warriors came out mad stale. But then again that's how they've been playing in every playoff game so far. Curry to me hasn't been the same since he did that cartwheel over Ariza's back. He still managed to have a decent game but nothing like I'm used to seeing.

Lebron played his heart out. I think he probably put too much on himself. Good for Warriors because he was gassed by the end, lol.

Thank God for Iggy and a shout out to Barnes for coming up big for us in the OT.

Bogut is too slow for Moskov and Thompson. But they couldn't hang with Warriors small ball.

Warriors dodged a bullet tonight with that Shumpurt miss.

It's in the books. On to game 2. Dubz 1- Cavs )

Like I said in another thread, I'm continuing to force Bron to beat me if I'm the Warriors.

If he wants to get 40+ while using 40+ possessions like he did tonight then let him do it. I'll live with that, but I can't live with everybody else getting good looks.

If Kyrie isn't good for the rest of the series than this will get UGLY. I'm talking Spurs/Heat last season ugly. Maybe even worse. Thompson and Curry didn't really get going and they still won, imagine what will happen when they both have great games?

I like how Mozgov was going HAM to the basket when LeBron made his move. Easy dump passes that led to posters.

The problem is GS has so many 6'6"ish guys who can ball. Just throwing bodies out there, hard to find mismatches. Not sure what Cleveland can do if JR is your second option now. More pick and roll instead of LeIso, maybe hope to get hot from 3.
