It's only game 1 I know.

But it would be hard to rationalize giving the award to any single warriors player at this stage.

No. Curry had a solid game all things considered - he wins, he gets the MVP.

It's only going to get worse from here and on. GSW were badly prepared and won on sheer talent alone. The adjustments on Lebron will be coming - it will get ugly.

2-6 is a lock.

I AGREE... With Kyrie out its going to be hard for the Cavs to keep up with this team

This isn't the first time for bron. He should've won the FMVP for the Mavs in 2011.

Only possible way is if the series went 7 games. Maybe 6 games he has a shot.

Also Manu should had won the finals mvp for Miami in 2013.

Agreed, Manu was almost 50% as bad as LeChoke in 2011, that's saying something... and definitely earned the Heat's FMVP.

No, no matter what he does... because their criteria is the team must win.....

Jerry West is the only exception.... and i still dont understand why because there has been soooo many players who were the best in the Finals by far but losed eventually as the opposing team was just to good as a unit.... just like what happened to Jerry there.... many examples even before Jerry got that fmvp...

I am totally for it though... i mean against the criteria (team must win), whoever played the best / was the best should get it.... but only Jerry got that treatment, only once NBA made that exception for some unknown reason...

I want to revisit this topic, I get it will probably go to Iggy or maybe Curry if Warriors win, but still King James definitely has a solid case.

It would be a slap in the face of GSW since it would imply that nobody on the team played good enough to win it. The NBA won't do that since it would piss off a lot of people.

He doesn't even have a case, Warriors game plan is to let him score and make others be isolated. He's played 1x1 all series long aside from G4 where he went 20 points on 22 shots.
His rebounds and assists make this a better than average series, but his offense has been horrible and cost Cavs some games. And don't get me started on his defense, everybody's scoring or dunking on him, it's becoming embarassing.

It'sa bit of a stretch saying his offense has cost some games when they wouldn't be remotely competitive in these games without his offense.

He's gotten to great lenghts in his effort to shoot 30+ fgas.
That's terrible basketball IQ, you have JR Smith, who's a good scorer, inside presences in thompson and mozgov and at least four good shooters beside you. This cavs team is at it's best when Bron takes good shots and spreads the ball around.

I get that but in reality JR wasn't hitting anything till tonight.
A lot of the time the open man is being found just the shots aren't falling.
Keep in mind irving going done has likely changed the cavs overall dynamics.

Lebron has been by far the best player in the series, but if the Warriors win, Curry will get the FMVP. Zero chance of anyone else getting it.
