Let's not lose our heads here.

Another example of LeBron fans doing a 180 and only embracing stats when LeBron's are good.

44 points on 38 shots. 6-10 free throws. 4 turnovers. 0 blocks and steals. 45 minutes to pull down 8 rebounds (0 offensive) and 6 assists.

And shot 1-6 to end the game. No, it wasn't some otherwordly game from LeBron. In fact, the 38 shots he took were the most he has ever attempted, regular season or playoffs.

That said, I don't think he had a poor game either. He DID keep them in it in the 4th, and he deserves credit for that. Its just hilarious that a statline that used to make LeBron fans guffaw if it was another players statline (44 on 38, with the final layup a statpad) is one that is deemed "impressive" because its their idol. Chill out.

Agreed, a vintage Lebron game is kicking it out to 3pt shooters who bury everything in a blowout

It was a greaat game. One of the best I've ever seen him play in the Finals or deep in the playoffs. Gained a lot of respect for him tonight.

It was a ok/very good performance with a horrible ending.

A bit like G6 vs Spurs.

He lost the game on that final shot.

Needs to have a legendary series to beat Golden State. On to the next one.

In all fairness bron will have to be that aggressive to win his series for his team.

But he will have to have better percentages for sure.

i agree. his scoring efficiency was well below league-average (51.8% TS), his D was very average, and he wasn't really creating for others at anywhere near his usual level because the warriors were content to single cover him. clearly not as impressive as the raw box-score numbers.

Yeah.....cute idea....but no.

I'm sure many Lebron fans have bashed a player for scoring 33 points on 28 shots or so in a reg season game or early playoff game.

But I can confidently say that no Lebron fan has ever tried to diminish a 44 point NBA Finals performance because it came on 38 shots. And only an idiot would.

He would have been criticized. Not by all LeBron fans or even most, but by a considerable amount. Cmon, people here post more outlandish things than that every day.

Also, I don't think its necessarily idiot. I do think it is harsh to pin the Cavs loss on LeBron, as he had a huge load to shoulder, but just ON THE SURFACE, 44 points on 38 shots/51.8 TS% isn't an "ESPN Classic" performance by any means.
