Kenneth Faried: 25 years old, 6'8" 228 lbs, drafted #22 in 2011
Thompson has really emerged in the playoffs while Faried did last season and in the Fiba world cup.
Both are relentless rebounders who have motors that never stop working, but who is currently better and who is better going forth?

Tristan is a far better defender. Faried would be a nice garbage man on the right team, but his defensive ability is still a major work in progress. And, TT is one of the best offensive rebounders I have ever seen.
Oh, and Faried will also be 26 next year, while TT will be 24.
The answer seems pretty obvious. :confusedshrug:

I'd like to see Faried when he isn't pretending he's Barkley. Put him in a role where he focuses on his strengths (like Thompson is right now) and then get back to me.

Faried wasnt drafted 4th overall. TT should be the better player and he is barely

:biggums: faried is clearly better offensively and let's not act like Thompson is an elite defender

Faried. He's been considered better up until this season. Thompson plays with LeBron and is now getting crazy amounts of exposure. He's averaging what like 10 boards in 35 minutes this playoffs? Faried is a similar rebounder and better offensive player while being a worse defender.
Faried/Shaw clashed alot and he had a pretty down season which was putting up 13/9. Faried had a 31 game stretch last season where he averaged 19/10 post All-Star break. Has averaged closed to 14 points in under 30 minutes a night.
Faried struggles defensively at times, Thompson has the clear edge there. Thompson isn't elite or anything tho. Faried blocks slightly more shots too for what it's worth.

Faried doesn't turn 26 until November. Age is irrelevant when comparing players currently and with these kinda players don't see that being all that important going forward either. Both are probably what they are. One's just in the perfect situation currently.
