The difference is Mj took over and won and LJ forgot how to play basketball.

The difference is that that Bulls team was so stacked that it didn't matter.

thats what happens when you don't quit on your team and allow them to grow and go through ups and downs.

Tbf you have no clue what you're talking about. At one point during game 6, when MJ went to the bench, the Bulls team was the following:
Longley
Burrell
Kukoc
Buechler
Kerr
In the NBA finals!!! That was the team Chicago had on the floor when MJ needed a breather. Have a dollar. Buy yourself a clue.

That's exactly what I thought of immediately when Kyrie was hurt and left. 1998 finals, cept Lebron couldn't pull it off.

That team is basically the Warriors or Spurs or Haws from this year, albeit much less overall talent... good/elite shooting at all positions except C. And in that position, a huge dude that can alter shots and grab boards. All unselfish, all know their role.
Certainly NOT stacked, make no mistake, but a very "modern" lineup, in an "unmodern" era. If the Bulls chose to rain 3s, like that lineup could, the Jazz would not have seen anything like it, and likely been unprepared for Ding up.

Pippen's injury problems began in Game 5. In that game MJ shot 35% and Kukoc was the leading scorer. MJ was magnificent in Game 6 but the notion that MJ was automatic to play that way in such a context is false. MJ also lost in the ECF without Pippen (Pip played only 1 minute) against the Pistons. In LeBron's case we are looking at only a few minutes in OT, although he did play poorly during that stint.

I'm talking about the finals idiot. Pippen went out in game 6 and Mj stepped up and LJ didn't.

Let's not overexaggerate and let's not jump to premature conclusions. It's the first game. Kyrie went down half way through overtime and I believe GS either had already had 4 point or 7 point lead. No one on Cleveland played well in overtime. So Lebron had about 2.5 minutes to will his team to victory. Now he didn't do so, and can fairly be criticized for playing quite poorly in overtime. But he can still turn around this series and win. If he does so, especially without Kyrie, then this whole thread becomes incredibly stupid and shortsighted.
GS is still the favorite and even more so with a win and Kyrie possibly injured. But let's not pretend that Cleveland has no chance. They have the best current player in the world, and that always gives them a chance.

And Pippen was 2/16 in game 5.
And Pippen had 8 points in game 6.
And Pippen shot 37%fg (?) In the ECF.
You have no clue what you're talking about as per usual.
Lebron just played a series and a half without Kyrie.

that team would be lucky to make the playoffs but you wanna compare them the the two best teams this year and the defending champs?

So let me guess this straight, Kyrie goes down when the GSW warriors are already up 7 in OT (correct me if I'm wrong) and then it's Lebron's fault they didn't get to score much with 2mins left
I mean all that time, less 3 starters on the roster and all the role players missing shots for basically the whole game, including brick city in OT
Now that you say it...I'm appalled at Lebron too for not providing a miracle with soooo much time left

Thats actually not a bad lineup considering. Pippen was hurt, and Jordan and Rodman were resting. I mean thats going deeeeep into your bench there. And even still you got one of the best 6th men and best three point shooters in the league in that lineup.

Lebron doesn't deserve any criticism for last night's game. He did all he could. He probably got a little tired near the end but no one has ever played a perfect game. It happens. On the road against a team that only lost 3 games there all year...he represented well. Cleveland is the better team. If they were healthy, I'd pick them to win in six. Defense, Rebounding, Lebron James and Kyrie Irving >> a bunch of jumpshots.
It's unfortunate Kyrie went down. I would be surprised if Cleveland wasn't right back here next year...with homecourt advantage.

The Warriors are the best defensive team in the league though.

I know for sure he was hurt after that blowout. They said he hurt his back taking one of his seven charges.

Exactly. The threat title is the only reason I clicked on this thread, wondering if anyone was going to let it slide.
