2006:
Smush
Kobe
Luke
LO
Kwame

2015:
Dellavedova
JR
Lebron
TT
Mozgov

Both with trash teams, both facing the league MVP's.

Kobe went up 3-1 before succumbing to Nash and the stacked Suns.

Can Lebron, with his team that's eerily similar to Kobe's, do better against Curry and the stacked Warriors?

What's eerie is that both teams played kobe and LeBron in the same way. Suns would double team more often, but kobe was extremely quick back and didn't get too far down in the post before he made a play. Additionally, he operated from the perimeter a lot as well. 3-5 dribbles max before a shot, drive or pass. But overall, they suffered the same fate. One guy can't do it alone. Kobe tried to...

Suns = 54 wins

I would argue that Lebron had Kyrie for 44 minutes of Game 1.

Mozgov > Kwame
TT < LO
JR >> Luke
Dellavedova = Smush

Lebron has a better team around him.

Whatever though, I can't blame you in not having any confidence in Lebron. At least Kobe made it a very competitive series.

The Suns weren't a historically good team. This is a really dumb comparison you're trying to make. They were like the Warriors, but without any defense. In fact their ORTG was about the same, but the Suns were middle of the pack defense, while the Warriors are the #1 defense.

Really not even close to compare at all.

Summary:

Kobe choked a 3-1 lead in the first round of the '06 playoffs.

In the game 7, they lost by 31 points

Suns Drtg: 105.8
Warriors Drtg: 101.4

Their Ortg is basically the same.

Let's give the Cavs game 1 since they would face a worse defense and won in regulation. Also, let's give the Cavs +5 pts each game and see if Lebron can pull it out given these circumstance.

You say those DRTG numbers as if they're comparable. 101.4 would have been good enough for the Warriors to be the 2nd best defense in the league in 2006.

Kobe had Odom putting up 19/11/5 on 49% shooting

Kwame was putting up 13/6... hell even Walton was putting up 12/6. If LeBron can get that kind of support, it could become a series.

kyrie putting up 26/5/6/3/2 isn't enough? :facepalm

If he could play all 7 games? Sure, but he can't.

JR Smith was the reason they lost though... 3/13? Won't cut it.

It seems to me more like the 07 series against the Suns. Very good team against one man show, this one man avoids the sweep but loses in 5..

TT is way more consistent than Odom, Mozgof is so much better than Kwame, Smush was nothing, never stepped up in the playoffs..

Luke Walton.. :lol :lol

JR would have been the 2nd best player on those Lakers teams, Kyrie has been good to great in the playoffs when he's played, played amazing in the finals before the injury, Lebron had Love/Kyrie for 3 games..

Give Kobe Love/Kyrie for as long as Lebron had them and he's on the the 2nd round.. maybe makes the finals.. but it would be twice as difficult playing in the west..

People forget how historically great that Suns team was. Not only were they led by the two-time deserving MVP Steve Nash (a player all of us Kobe fans acknowledge well-deserved the honor those years), but they were STACKED with future hall-of-famers like Tim Thomas, Raja Bell, and Leandro Barbosa. Not only that, they had the greatest coach in NBA history-- a coach we Laker fans grew to love later on-- in Mike "the D is for defense" Antoni.

Comparing this Warriors team to that traveling all-star team is sacrilege. For Kobe to go 7 with them is on-par with the greatest accomplishments in NBA history, and it is no wonder we Kobe fans always bring it up!

Warmest regards,

Ayotunde Ndiaye

Nobody is shocked that your f*ggot trolling ass would show up just as the inevitability of your boy about to be 2-4 in the Finals begins to set in. Be mad, b*tch. #RENTFREE :applause:
