View Full Version : Give the Warriors organization props

I think one thing that gets overlooked is that this team was built with insanely good depth. One of the reasons they have been able to avoid injuries is that they were able to keep every player on their roster under 33 minutes per game. Reminiscent of the 2014 Spurs.

Sure, there is some aspect of "luck" with them avoiding injuries, and some injuries this year were just freakish... Conley's face, Love's shoulder, John Wall's hand, Matthews Achilles, Varejao ACL, etc...

But a lot of the other injuries are the type of things that come with the wear and tear of a long season/postseason. Warriors were successful at avoiding a lot of these scenarios. Luckily, the two freakish injuries they had (Curry/Klay) came when they were already controlling the series, and they had a 7 day layoff and didn't have to miss any games.

But overall, I think the depth played a giant role in the Warriors staying healthy throughout the playoffs, and the front office deserves the props for building the team this well.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere the GSW developed a new system to give their players a rest at certain parts of the season. They did do a great job at keeping their guys healthy and it has payed off in one of the most injury struck seasons (mostly relative to star players).

What they were able to accomplish this season is historical stuff. #2 Offense. #1 Defense. 67-15 record. +10.0 point differential.

You only see a team like this once in a decade.

Damn.

I haven't really given it much thought since the Finals aren't over yet, but I think they will go down as a Top-10 all-time team if they go on to win the title.

Those who claim that they have been "lucky" throughout the playoffs are ignoring the fact that this team went 67-15 in a tough Western Conference.

Does the injury-ridden post season lessen their legacy? Since teams typically establish such in the playoffs and their playoffs hasn't matched the same output thus far. And, of course, every opponent had major injuries. Although no one will remember that 15 years from now, except the haters. Just like an NCAA team getting the easiest tournament run with every card falling their way. In the end they got the ring, and the further away you get from it, the ring is all that's really remembered.

Just saying, even if you overlook the injuries, I don't think Golden State's playoffs has been all that impressive. If the regular season was a 9.8/10. The post season is...

Or would a dominant sweep in the Finals change the perception?

Either way, potentially an all-time great team. Only trying to figure out where they potentially stand in history.

it's not the Warriors fault LeVoodoo grew out of control and injured way too many people this year.

what is even scarier is that this team has the opportunity to stay together for a number of years.

Joe Lacob has down a remarkable job hiring the necessary people to make the right decision for the Warriors. From Bob Meyers to Jerry West to Rick Welts, the dubs have a top notch front office.

If the Warriors win the championship, it's safe to say they stole one

But they did everything right. Excellence of execution :applause:

:oldlol:

Warriors in 6, maybe 7 considering Dirk would be the best player in the series.

Celtics were a better team, but in a different decade.

Healthy OKC/Cavs/Rockets would've beaten them.

Doesn't matter though, a title is a title no way around it.

You know you got a strong team when you got Andrew Bogut playing in the playoffs.

Maybe next year Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, John Wall can be as strong as Adrew Bogut.
