Injured Kevin Love wants to win with the Cavaliers next season

After getting injured in the first round, Kevin Love could only watch as the Cleveland Cavaliers made the NBA Finals without him. This has fueled plenty of speculation Love may opt out of his contract and bolt to another team this summer.

However, Love has enjoyed being part of Cleveland's run, even though he can't directly contribute. And as he told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, he is planning to stay with the Cavs.

"I had so much fun watching it because I want to be in a moment like that," Love told ESPN after the Cleveland Cavaliers' 108-100 overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors. "I'd rather be out there helping those guys, and I saw a lot of places where I could help.

"I've never wanted to be in a game more than that one," said Love, who had never been on a playoff team in his six prior NBA seasons.

Asked specifically whether that meant he wanted to be back in Cleveland next season, Love said, "Yes. I want to win."

Asked why that speculation remains, Love said, "It's just the way the world works now. People talk so much and might tell themselves a lie so much they start to believe it. From there, the narrative starts to change. I haven't changed my narrative. I'm going to keep supporting these guys, and we'll be talking to Cleveland after the season."

You have to give Love credit, he has never wavered from his stance of remaining in Cleveland and is quite disappointed that he can't be helping the Cavs in the Finals. Tristan Thompson has emerged in Love's absence, grabbing rebounds by the handful. But the Cavs were an even better team when Love was playing.

Cleveland traded away Andrew Wiggins and a future first-rounder to get Love so if he stays, the Cavs will have some reassurance that they didn't trade away the Rookie of the Year for nothing. Of course, this speculation of Love's future plans will keep being brought up until he actually makes good on his word.

Perfect example of a series where Love would be huge value to this team.
