View Full Version : Dare You To Shoot Defense: Lebron vs Kobe

Remember, when teams wanted to let Shaq get his and stop the others? That didn't work out too well for other teams as Kobe was destroying teams in the playoffs while Shaq got all the recognition.
Then when Kobe had Pau, they tried to let Kobe get his and he got his teammates involved for a 4th and 5th championship.
Spurs dared Lebron to shoot and even put a guy like Diaw on him and he was rendered useless. Warriors are doing the same thing and let him get his and once again, he chucks up shots like it is out of style.
First time in history, where a dare you to shoot defense is actually working.

LeBron won a championship with Popovich employing that method.

Actually, this has been done many times before except a superstar hasn't been exposed as much as Lebron has.
It is only game 1 and things can happen so I am basically making this evaluation based on game 1 and the past.

LeBron will shoot up bricks. This year is the worst for him offensively even though shooting 45% isn't bad. But c'mon. From 56% down to 46%. That's a huge drop.

Lakers fans trying to talk shit about Bron cuz one of his teammates hit a clutch shot. Where would Kobe without Horry, DFish, etc.
Shit I remember on his last championship run Gasol and Artest was hitting game winners of Kobe's bricks :lol

Pistons 2004. They let Kobe shoot the Lakers in the foot after letting Shaq get his. Kobe lost his cool by not putting up shots and having Shaq get all the points, so as on cue, he starts popping off. TO THE DETRIMENT OF HIS TEAM. Game. Set. Match. Thanks Kobe.

I always wandered how I would deal with Ray Ray, KG, Peja and all the guys I used to love, becoming irrelevant and finally leaving the NBA.. I think I had tough time.. And now I see Kobe fans :lol completely different level. These guys cant handle 5 mins without propping up Kobe out of being desperate.

How about the double team defense? LeBron shred apart the Hawks when they were double teaming him with smart passes. Kobe would just chuck over two-three defenders and hope for the best.

Still don't change the fact he was being doubled by the likes of Prince and Rip Hamilton. (who's been playing Kobe since HS)
But by all means spin it how you want.

Well, we saw Lebald get single coverage and ref help all series, and he managed 39% shooting
He was shooting somewhere in the 20s outside of five feet, I guess we know the answer to this thread :lol

So cute how you always try to insert Duncan into Kobe vs Lebron discussions.
Let's just state the facts if Duncan is better than Lebron because of all time head to head record , then Kobe ****s Duncan in the ass deeper than his down low Boyfriend from Texas.

I think it actually is fact that Lebron shoots better when contested than when left open to shoot.
Someone had stats from his Miami days and he was something like 44% from midrange when contested, and 42% when left open.
