View Full Version : If Cavs win tonight, Lebron > Jordan

Lebron has taken great strides. He's even removed his head band completely. That takes courage. If he somehow manages to win tonight with this squad of scrubs, then he is clearly better than Air Jordan.

Hook, line and sinker....no one reels them in better.

Seriously though, if bron makes that shot with the game tied at 98, Kyrie doesn't destroy his knee. Now Bron has to go to sleep knowing that he's responsible for destroying Kyrie's career. It's all about cause and effect.

When Jordan hit those shots over players like Russel and Ehlo, he said to himself.... "I MUST make this shot"

And so he did.

Such is the difference between clutch and choking.

Such is the difference between 2/6 and 6/6.

Any version of the Bulls would destroy either team.

Horrible play by both teams.

If this is these 2 are truly the best basketball teams, then it's in worse shape than I thought.

oh the horror

You ain't lying dude. I know some youngsters are enamored by the play but Jesus Christ dude....this is supposed to be some resurgence and so far I'm not impressed. This has to be one of the more underwhelming playoffs I've seen in a long time.

Spurs vs Clips was good. That's about it.

Really shocking how terrible both teams have been the first 2 games. First game you could maybe chalk it up to nerves or whatever but holy shit was the product on display tonight straight trash. Only saving grace was that they played so badly on even terms.

You had one team (full of talented athletes mind you) just chucking from 3 like it was going out of style. On the other end, you had iso ball being taken to never before seen heights by a guy who has consistently failed to come through in the clutch.

The league is in terrible shape.

A ****ing idiot might think this, yes.

Clearly Bron was most responsible for the win even though Delly completely SHUT DOWN Steph Curry? Am I doing it right? Giving all the cred to Bron even though he shit the bed and got his shit BLOCKED in OT and also choked on the layup causing the game to go into OT. Clearly Delly didn't make Steph go 5-23 and hit the cluch free throws and secure the most pivotal bound in the entire game.... nope.... it was all bron and his amazing 11/34 shooting!

Jordan dropping in the all time rankings badly.

IMO, if Durant wins a game against the Warriors in the playoffs next year, he can jump Jordan all time too.

You failed in that you actually believe that at the time I posted this thread, that I actually think one game makes Lebron better than MJ! It was a bait thread and you were 1 of 2 people that fell for it. :lol

Lebron's team has some injuries... But unlike the all-time greats he's chasing, Lebron gets to play with spacing, so the injuries don't matter - today's spacing would allow ANY top 20 all-time player the domination necessary to win as a 1-man team.. But it just so happens that Lebron is the only one lucky enough to play in this era with the spacing.

Of course, today's game allows zones outside the paint, but this is minor compared to spacing.. Spacing overrides everything - the lower number of strongside defenders resulting from weakside spacing, coupled with wider driving and passing lanes would allow any top 20 player the domination necessary to win as a 1-man team.

Of course, not every player would dominate today's spacing the same way - in Lebron's case, he gets triple-doubles.. Magic would too, but with more assists and FAR better efficiency - something like 25/10/15... MJ would come close to averaging 50 PPG in this series (plus 6 rebs, 6 assists, per his standard).. Meanwhile, Bird would also take full advantage of the porous strongside defense (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378398) - he'd get something like 33/11/9.. Obviously, ALL of these guys would have far better efficiency than Lebron.

How do you feel about Lebron showing that he can be more efficient than MJ ever was, while now showing he can put up better raw stats than MJ ever could too?

i feel nothing about it because it never happened.. you have to do both at once.. you can't ONLY have higher FG%... Heck Birdman did that.

What would MJ do against the 1-defender strongsides below?

He'd average almost 50 PPG in this series... Not an iota of exaggeration..

That's the only way to explain what MJ would do to 1-defender strongsides, and strongsides that have less defenders in general.

I'm a fan of great basketball, and Lebron is certainly one of the greatest to have ever played the game...

but the over-reaction here is ridiculous.

Lebron goes from a supposed all-time "Choker" to greater than MJ based on ONE game?

Let's see how this series plays out, and then go from there. Even with what would be a miracle series win, LBJ's overall resume would still be well below Jordan's.

Barring injury, Lebron probably has around five more prime years left to add to his legacy. Who knows where he will rank all-time when he hangs it up? But he certainly hasn't jumped into the GOAT spot based on game two of one Finals.
