View Full Version : The Curry Curse

The defending champion Spurs inexplicably lose to the Pelicans, guaranteeing that Curry doesn't have to face Westbrook, one of the top point guards in the west.

The Spurs drop to the 6th seed and have to face the Clippers, giving the other top point guard, Chris Paul, the toughest first-round opponent in recent memory. Paul injures his hamstring but somehow forces the Clippers to a heroic game 7 win.

While not a top point guard, the Grizzlies' Mike Conley suffers a freakish facial injury in the first round, and has to face the Warriors after facial surgery in the second round.

The Clippers blow out the Rockets and are on the verge of their first Conference Finals. However, despite having all the momentum and being clear locks to get in, the Rockets come back and the Clippers suffer what will go down in history as one of the biggest chokes in NBA playoff history. The Rockets advance despite missing Patrick Beverly, their starting point guard.

In the east, top point guard Derrick Rose has to take on the Cavs with an injured Pau. Needless to say the Cavs advance with Kyrie Irving, one of the top point guards in the east, who also just happens to be injury-prone.

Like clockwork, a hobbled Cavs team gives the Warriors their all and damn near steal game one...when Kyrie gets injured and Curry finds his shot.

At this point it's clear that Lebron has passed the voodoo torch over to Curry. All of this is far too freakish to be coincidence.

D-MO was bigger loss than Beverley IMO. Rockets second best player all season. Accurate post overall though.
