LOL at people who think he's the MVP over Lebron. Lebron with his size can get his points even w/ a bad shooting game. Curry has been EXTREMELY mediocre so far.

One off night during a legendary post season run. It happens to the best. Steph Curry was creating on offense when his shot wasn't falling. That is what he does and that is why he has the highest +/- in league history.

He's overrated and a chucker. Delly outhustled him and took his soul. Shut him down and had him chucking airballs late. He also threw that TO that sealed the choke.

Shit defense in PnR's, too. Most bricks from 3 in a Finals game, ever.

He had a bad game. It happens, that doesn't erase what he did all year. ISH is the epicenter of knee jerk reactions.

Lebron shot horrible as well. His team won. They both won't shoot this poorly the rest of the series. Curry hit the big 3 to pull the game close and then tied the game, why because he is such a dangerous shooter even if he is 0-100 that defenders have to play him air tight.

Your performance in the Finals is testament of your skill, talent and mindset. Curry ain't ready yet. He better step up on this series or I'm gonna slap em dudes claiming he's better than RayRay :oldlol: or even Reggie.

If he goes off in game 3, how many 'Steph Curry is properly rated' threads will we get/

That's what I hate about ISH- we treat one game like it's everything.

If the Cavs had blown this game, we'd be talking about the Warriors winning on a C+ day and persevering.

I'm trying to take the glass half-full approach here.

He's a terrific player but when his shot isn't falling he does very little else to impact the game. He'd rather chuck a bunch of tough jumpers than setting up his team. He's NOT a PG.

That being said I'm not gonna overreact to one game. He'll probably destroy the Cavs in the next 3 games and win FMVP.

I dont think it's completely an off night.

Kyrie guarded great in game 1, Dellevadova did an even better job on him in game 2.

I really think his combination of a lack of strength vs physical defenders that's the issue. Curry needs to use his handles more to create separation from dellevedova in game 3.

It's amazing just how much one game can ruin a career.

It won't be long and there will be a video going viral with Curry clanking and air-balling 77 straight shots.

He will go to several shrinks, and then to Shaq for shooting advice.

By this time next year he will "grannying" his three-point shots...in a pick up game at the local Y.

All because of this one game.

Book it.

I maintain that Curry really is over rated. That's he's an incredible player, an awe-inspiring shooter, and happens to play for the perfect team/system, considering his abilities. I just can't get over how many "open" shots Curry gets, especially with how good a shooter he is. For that reason alone, there is some over rating being done.

But that had nothing to do with this game.

Genaro
06-08-2015, 07:54 AM
Stop overreacting. Curry had a great year and deserved his MVP award. He's been playing great so far in the playoffs. One game doesn't erase all of this.

And if you don't like jump shooters, I feel sorry for you. Curry teared the league with a heavy dose of jump shots.

I love Curry and think he's a fantastic player and a well-deserved MVP.

BUT the fact that people were literally trying to claim he is the greatest player of all time is just absolutely, for lack of a better word, re-fuchking-tarded.

Hes an amazing shooter and a great passer.

RoundMoundOfReb

2 games and he's overrated? If 2 games are enough to change your opinion on somebody you shouldn't have had one to begin with.

But nobody has said they changed their opinion.

People are re-stating their original opinion, and using last night's game as "proof" -which in reality, Curry having one bad game is far from "proof" that he is overrated. The fact that he has been, and still is slightly overrated remains and will remain as long as people are throwing his name out in the GOAT discussion.

JJ Barea and Jet shut down Bron in 11...

That said, it's a weakness in Stephs game that he couldn't drive or dish when they played him so tight. He should have driven by Dull at will for easy lay ups or assists. I recon he'll be back stronger.

The reason Curry is overrated is that he is the weak link defensively. Dray/Klay/Iggy/Barnes are all interchangable defensively but Cle put Curry at the fulcrum of everything they do. And GS couldn't deal with that. They won't let Curry switch on to LeBron so they end up in a double. Thats how LeBron got almost half his asst.

Wally450
06-08-2015, 10:46 AM

LeBron is clearly the best basketball player on the planet.

AintNoSunshine

He deserved the MVP for what the awards criteriors are, but think about this. Lebron is worlds ahead of this leagues MVP. And nobody would even argue about Bron>>>>>>>>Curry

PP34Deuce
06-08-2015, 11:27 AM
Delly is a little bigger and he's considerably stronger than Curry.

What i see right now with Steph Curry is what I saw years back when Ellis was on the team. He can be beat up and he still has lapses defensively.

Cleveland has assigned Delly to basically guard and shadow Curry everywhere. Delly actually has shown he can handle Curry one on one as he fights through screens much more than Bron, Shump, and JR.

GSW want to get switches for mismatches and not only does Cleveland have players like Shump,Bron, and Thompson for that, they also have a very dsciplined defender in Delly who knows how to fight through screens.

Don't sweat it. Most will say it was an off night, but for some reason LeBron is NEVER allowed to have an off night.

Sitting out 20 4th quarters during the reg. season helped preserve that +/-

RicksPlace

He is a great talent and a great THREE point shooter, but he can't be compared to guys like Bird, Nash or Dirk as of yet. I take a Dirk 15-18 footer or the one legged fadeaway any day of the week over Curry. I just feel he is sometimes out of control and gets over confident sometimes, leading to bad shots.

He is only overrated when someone tries to make him the equal of the greatest player to ever play the game - LeBron James.
That aside, I wouldn't say that he is overrated in historical terms. For instance, he is a far, FAR better player than any perimeter player from the 1990s who didn't play on the Bulls. I mean, he absolutely mops the floor with the likes of Mitch Richmond and Reggie Miller.

Axe
