Why do Western Conference contenders choke so often?

Seriously? Shit's been going on since the mid 2000's. The supposed "superior" conference seems to always be choking in the Finals/Playoffs. The Spurs in 2013, the Mavs in 2006 & 2007, the Clippers every year, the Lakers in 2004 & 2011, the Clippers, Spurs, and Warriors in 2015.

This is why we don't take you Western mother****ers seriously in the East. Talk shit all year about how great it is in the West, and then collapse when it matters. I'm done picking Western Conference teams to win anything.

The East every year has to beat one (max two) good teams. The top team in the East basically start to gameplan for the Finals in April, while the West teams have to grind every year through a tough regular season just to make the play-offs and then three tough rounds of the play-offs to get to the finals. Where as in the fairy land East, the team that comes out on top there has had such a cruise to the nba finals they have hardly had to use any energy for the whole season due to feasting on junk teams

**** off with that argument. You have a week+ off before the Finals. And injures can happen against any team, it's not like the tougher the opponent makes it more likely to be banged up by the Finals. Not with that finesse brand of basketball played out West.

The Heat came off 7 game series' in 2012 & 2013 and shitted all over OKC and the Spurs in the Finals. The Heat played a tough Detroit team, while the Mavs played a no defense playing Phoenix Suns team in 2006 before the Heat took Dallas' soul in the Finals. The Celtics went through two 7 games series while the Lakers ran through teams led by Carmelo Anthony and Carlos Boozer. The Celtics went on to massacre the Lakers in the Finals.

All this is besides my point anyway. This thread was made to highlight the horrific choke jobs that occur regularly by Western Conference Contenders. The Mavs won the first two games of the 06 Finals and were up big in game 3. So you're telling me they all off sudden started to feel the effects of their "grueling" Playoff run late in Game 3? Nah, them nikkas flat out choked. The Spurs weren't exhausted enough to not be up 3-2 with a 5 point lead with 30 seconds to go in Game 6. So they gassed out in the last 30 seconds? Nope, choked. The Warriors have played cupcake teams throughout this Playoff run and remained healthy, while the Cavs went through three physical series' that ended some of their best players seasons. And they're still up because the Warriors best player is getting shitted on by some Australian that nobody has ever heard of until this year. Choke, choke, choke. That's just what Western Conference teams do. No way around it.

Damn straight. West superiority means nothing, it's regular season useless stat. This is the playoffs. This is the finals. None of that matters.

Warriors fans keep pointing to regular season. Nobody cares. Keep pointing to Memphis, nobody cares. Memphis didn't have Lebron.

Warriors aren't done but they have been shown the truth. West is only better than East when it's no-defense, I'll get you tomorrow type of basketball.

Lakers/Celtics 2010 was rigged. KG was injured in 2009. Kyrie and Love were out in 2015. If none of this happens, East wins 7/10. Oh, and I said this last year, so this doesn't even include the Warriors historic choke job this year.
