Kobestans are out in force right now. Branstans are obviously feeling good right now because this guy is a monster and killing it.

Do any non-kobestans think there is a debate here :confusedshrug:

There is no debate...unless you're a delusional Kobe stan...and I'm a much bigger fan of Bryant than I am of James.

LeBron from 08-15 has been better than Kobe ever was. LeBron is a better player. Kobe is arguably more accomplished.

That bold word there is what created all of these complicated arguments and stanisms. Hopefully LeBron wins this year and more so this shit can be put to rest.

It's amazing what has transpired in the last five years. By the end of the 2010 Finals, Kobe was generally recognized as the best player in the world. And he was clearly a Top-10 player of all-time.

Now, with age, injuries, poor supporting casts...he seems to have slipped dramatically.

Makes no sense.

As for OP...a peak Kobe and a peak Lebron are very close. I might give Lebron a slight edge. But barring injuries, Lebron's career resume will easily surpass Kobe's.

This crap again :facepalm

Geez if you talking bout right now in 2015 then YES of course Lebron is better.

But if we talking the all-time list then I would be hesitant to put Lebron over Kobe at this point.

Lets just wait till Bron retire though.

Lebron will officially pass Kobe after winning this title, FMVP. He's already passed Kobe in the eyes of many but it won't even be debatable after this series. Also don't forget Lebron is 7 years younger than Kobe so the gap will just continue to widen :oldlol: . Lebron hating Kobe stans will be extinct soon.

It unfortunately never would've coincided prime for prime beyond the 2008 season. LeBron was entering his prime that year, and that was the last true season of Kobe's prime. 2009, and 2010 were gradual declines.

As for the comparison? It's so difficult, but I think the uniqueness of LeBron makes him greater historically. A guy who can volume score like Kobe. All around, versatility, including defensively like Pippen. A team leader, Point Forward, and passer like Magic. The handle of Penny Hardaway.

Better? Depends who you ask. More accomplished? Arguable either way as well. Kobe's rings, or LeBron's individual accolades?

After seeing LeBron wreck my Bulls in 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2015? I just fear facing him more, granted we saw him more, and didn't face Kobe ever in his prime. LeBron might just be a more dominant player, and point blank has more impact. Kobe is incredible, and a beautiful player to watch. Aesthetically, and intensity wise similar to MJ. Both guys play both ends of the floor, which I love. But what LeBron has done from 2009 - Now is incredible. The dimensions to his game is jaw dropping.

im def not kobe stan.

what do hur lebron a little bit is the fact that he still has just defeated 7x 50 win teams in his playoff career....thats telaly not an impressive number.... shaq less kobe, dirk, of course duncan etc have more.....

but i just like lebrons dominance when he gets the ball and dirves to the basket. nobody can stp him. this athelic dominance is just beatiful to watch

Yeah, but unfortunately when Kobe leads teams they don't get out of the first round, so them playing in separate conferences always made it tough.

its amazing how a guy can go from 11th all time to top 5 all time passing kobes 5 titles/legendary career just by winning 2 finals games vs an unproven G-state

yall know bran still needs 2 wins right? and thats just to get his first real title

Funny how people acting like Cavs already won the series. When LeBald goes 1.5*/6 he'll be right back where he was. Several dozen spots below Kobe all time, or even lower with that even uglier record.

Trolling aside, any time I hear the argument for Bryant, it is due to the rings. It is constantly rings, rings, rings. Not a bad thing since you have to be very good to win a lot. Saying that though, it really never boils down to what they do on the court when comparing the two on here.

Bron at this point has proven to be the better rebounder, passer, playmaker, defender, post player, floor general, more efficient, multi faceted, dominant player.
Even as a scorer people act as if Bryant is in a league of his own when comparing the two, yet Bron has proven he can hang right there with him. In fact, in the playoffs he has shown he is probably the more reliable scorer out of the two.

Bryant is great, top 10 all time, but how can anyone watch both play and come to the conclusion that Kobe is better as a basketball player? He just doesn't impact the game as much as Lebron.

I dunno, just my opinion that delves into more than the standard ring argument. I never even liked LeBron prior to him coming to the Heat, in fact I'm sure you can find a bunch of comments of me hating on him on here, but I could tell from 09 onwards how good he had become. Shaq, Jordan and LeBron are the best players I've seen in my lifetime.

What Lebron is doing now is comparable to Kobe winning it all with the likes of Smush Parker and Kwame Brown.

Yes. Yes it does.

Even if Lebron is not as good as Kobe right now, to say that he never could be is silly.

Kobe has better post game, on the ball defense, killer instinct, fundamentals, skills with natural talent I'll take those aspects of Kobe over Lebron. Lebron will surpass Kobe eventually.

LeBrons post game is excellent

Lebron has a significantly better post game than Kobe Bryant and the gap isn't minute either. As far as passing Kobe, most basketball fans are in general agreement that he already has passed Kobe. Whether he'll end up in the top tier with Jordan, Russell and Kareem is another matter, on the other hand.

It's much better now than say 4-5 years ago he's improved just as good as Kobe post game during his prime.

If you go with Kobe; you're an idiot.
If you go with Lebron; you're sane.

That was supposed to happen until Dwight's Orlando team made it instead of Lebron. Totally messed up the marketing gimmick with those puppets, if anyone remembers.
