Interesting. Stephen A also says that the Warriors can't compare to the Spurs offensively. They rely too much on Stephen Curry, and the Cavs are doing everything they can to lock Steph down.

It seems like they all pretty much agree that the Warriors are going to have to do something differently if they want to win.

Differently as in a different scheme, not just playing harder. It's not like the Warriors have been getting blown out. The losses have been close losses :hammerhead:

That playing harder shit rhetoric is for idiotic fans who know nothing about the game, so I guess you fit right in.

It's the NBA finals both teams are playing hard, Cav's are executing their game plan far better than the GSW.

One team is clearly playing with more fire than the other. A blind man could see that.

That's not even the point I was making though lol :confusedshrug:

It isn't just Steph. The Cavs are doing two things... they're focused on trying to get the ball out of Curry's hands and denying him off the ball while also never leaving Thompson, regardless of what is happening around them.

They aren't even taking their eyes off of him. The strategy makes a ton of sense. If you stick a guy on Thompson and never leave him to help or to step into the path of a driving player or to swipe at the ball or go for a defensive rebound... basically leaves Curry with the ball, surrounded by Cavaliers, playing with three guys to pass to... none of them Thompson.

Had to turn that off. Too much LeBald slurping. Dudes were saying Mt. Rushmore is MJ, Russell, Magic and Bran. Wtf? Kareem and Bird were brought up, but seemed like afterthoughts. Stephen A. acted like Kobe is the only other person that can be in the top 4. :wtf: No mention of Wilt, Duncan or Shaq at all like LeBron and Kobe are just automatically above those guys. :oldlol:

I agree but that's what Danny Green is saying. It shouldn't be just steph.

Everyone is saying that Curry needs to step up. No other Warrior scored over 15 points in game 3

Barnes was 0-8. Green was 2-10. Nobody else stepped up on offense. That can't happen when you're also getting outplayed on the defensive end. The Warriors are making this way too easy on the Cavs. That's where lack of experience kills them big time. In the regular season they just said "oh well" if Curry and Thompson couldn't get hot. Instead of "oh well," it should have been let's run different plays.

Spot on.

The problem is the guys Curry are passing to aren't reliable shooters. I honestly feel like they've been playing pretty good defense on Bron.

It's just that they aren't boxing out and that's giving Cavs second chance pts.

Like I said before if Green, Iggy, Barnes, and Livingston make their open shots then the Warriors would be up 2-1 right now.

These guys need to drive and kick now or come and shoot the midrange.

They shouldn't even have to be reliable shooters. They can do other things. They can run around and tire the Cavs out. The Cavs have 7 players. They can try and cut to the rim more, make more passes. They haven't even been able to get on fast breaks.

The Cavs are doing all the right things defensively BUT they are also all playing 45 minutes a game. Can't let them slow the game down like that.

That's what I'm saying they need to drive when they get the ball cause the defender will be running at them.

Drive and kick or shoot the midrange. Just stop relying on the 3 cause they can't make it.

Well, that's the difference between the Spurs and the Warriors. Coming into this playoffs -- before Kyrie and Love were hurt -- there was only one team in the entire league I really didn't want to play and that was San Antonio.

I felt like we had the roster to win a title even if it was against them in The Finals, but I would have rather not had to go through that grind. We couldn't have played the kind of defense we are playing against the Warriors if this were the Spurs.

Now, Blatt has been very good and very creative at tailoring the defense to his opponent, so I'm certain he would have come up with something that was effective. But, the Warriors so far have made it easy. Take care of Steph and Klay, and their chances of winning are slim and none.

If you focus your defense on two guys against the Spurs, you're toast. Parker and Green? Then Leonard and Duncan get you. Duncan and Leonard? They counter with Parker and Green. Then, you have Ginobili coming off the bench. And Splitter/Diaw doing their thing in the lane and off the dribble.

I think a healthy Cavs team vs. the Spurs would have been absolutely epic. Needless to say, I was very happy when the Clippers knocked the threat of the Spurs out of the playoffs. No one wants to play that team. I'm pretty sure Kyrie Irving wouldn't have been averaging 57 points a game vs. them in The Finals. :oldlol:

Green's perimeter defense is essential in this perimeter-driven/rules league - much more important that LMA's scoring. SAS's big men are fine as long as Duncan is playing.
