If they're gonna award it today for GSW player, is it gonna go to Curry or someone else?

Iguadala, by far. Dude saved the Warriors season by going off, led his team in points and basically shut down an exhausted Bran.
Iggy is the consensus FMVP.

Mozgov was guarding him for 70% of the game... :oldlol:

He isn't. Bron has been shooting shit regardless. Iggy being on him while he does that doesn't have much to do with it. He has been his best matchup, but nothing special.
What is he doing, holding him to 35% shooting while he shots his regular 39% for the series?

You're off on this. Bran can get to the rim at will against Green, Thompson, and Barnes, but put Iggy on him and he has to settle for jumpers.
Give the man his due. Is he not playing an excellent series?

He's doing a good job but it's more of LeBron shitting the bed. Not really LeBron's fault though. With his line up there isn't many offensive options besides LeBron smash his way into the paint and have Tim and TT crash the boards hard behind him.

It is easy to tell how little most of you understand basketball.
Iggy is a role player that is stepping up when it matters. Curry is the most valuable player on the floor for them.
There was one perfect example today where they double off Curry, Curry passed it to Green (2 on 1 vs Mozgov), who swung it to Livingston when Mozgov helped, and Livingston (1 on 1 vs Mozgov) made a great pass to a WIDE OPEN Iggy.
That is the Curry effect. You don't get that play to happen without a gameplan designed to slow down one specific player.
He is playing great defense on Bron. Not going to take anything away from that. But, let's be serious - it is a team effort stopping Bron. The reason Iggy can do what he does (play great defense) is because now they are doubling Bron on the pick and roll or coming with help way sooner. They started using the Cavs game plan (of how they guard Curry) and used it on Bron. Team defense + 1 pesky constant irritant.
When a team is game planning to stop 1 player and make others beat them it doesn't matter what their stats are. It is not a stats impact. It gets other players wide open shots.

Realistically it's Curry getting double and triple teamed almost every possession that is giving Iggy and the others room for good offensive stats/games, but Iggy has been great on his defense against Bran :confusedshrug:

I think a lot of us understand this perfectly well. But I will not "award" someone with a FMVP for being a decoy, or because the other team is focusing defensive attention on them.
Iguodala still has to make the shots. Iguodala still has to defend at a high level. Iguodala still has to make the passes that he does.
He has been the best GSW player in this series so far. Curry is doing what he is supposed to, passing to the open man, drawing attention, etc, but I won't give him the FMVP for that. That would be like giving the MVP to an offensive lineman in football. I respect and appreciate what Curry is doing, but it's not FMVP worthy.

So now we give an award to someone for pretending to be a threat? Because the other team thinks they're good? What about actual results?
I'll say again.. giving the FMVP to Curry, assuming Warriors win and everyone's level of play stays the same, is akin to giving an MVP to an offensive line or lineman.

No it's not.
That is an absurd comparison.
Iggy is putting up 15/6/3 69% TS while playing elite defense on Lebron James on the other end on an island. And that doesn't even do justice to his timely plays either...
Comparing him to Delly is absurd.
Delly is putting up 10/3/3 43% TS and playing good defense on Curry, but getting loads of help on him.
Iggy has clearly been the best Warriors player so far in this series. :facepalm

And no way is lebron shooting 47% TS if they don't have Iggy.
There are hardly any guys in the league that could put up 15/6/3 69% TS while playing elite 1 on 1 defense with little help on lebron.
Curry is obviously their best player overall, but Iggy has made the biggest impact on this series and quite frankly it isn't very close.

If Iggy continues to frustrate LeBron and hit outside shots he's got to be the frontrunner for FMVP. Still, Curry will likely win it if GS win out and he logs his averages.

He playing very well but Green, Barnes etc wre playing BRAWN straight up 1 v1, since Iggy has been on him Kerr has wised up and is bringing early help and even hard doubles.
Curry is the FMVP so far
best player in Game 1
tied for best player in Game 4, like others have said, no Curry Iggy has about 8 points this game and GS loses.
Iggy. His defense on Lebron has been very good in addition to the scoring. And it's not just the points but how he's getting them - pushing the ball full court, dunking and timely baskets when Warriors seem discouraged. I see this as more important than curry's scoring when Warriors are already up. The fact that curry's the one being double teamed of course counts but he's not helping himself any getting burnt on the other halfofthecourtbyDelly.

Easily the best post in this thread.
It's like you ppl don't understand the effect of Curry on the floor giving Iggy pre game shoot around jumpers. MVP= Most Valuable...Without Curry, someone actually guards Iggy and he goes back to 8ppg type offense. And he's getting beat by Bron off the dribble everytime, but the Warriors team defense and rotation is keeping Bron from shooting a high percentage aswell as the fact that Bron folds under pressure....It's almost like you ppl don't even watch these games and realize how scared of Curry the Cavs are....Imagine Curry getting the same open looks as Iggy?
