View Full Version : Most 3 pointers made in a single postseason for a player

1. Steph Curry - 95 (2015)
2. Reggie Miller - 58 (2000)
3. Ray Allen - 57 (2001)

This is just insane. Btw, Klay Thompson currently has 56 this postseason, if he makes a few more he will be #2 on the list.

It's kind of sad. All these 3 pointers from everyone seems lazy in a way.

Perhaps it's because reminds me of the playgrounds, where instead of seeing kids practicing moves, they're shooting 3 pointers from half court, and going, "Ooooooooooooh," when one almost goes in, or lands near the rim.

Curry just makes it look easy.

I forgot what game it was....but he started hitting a bunch of 3's in the 3rd/4th and half of the time I thinking, why did he took that stupid shot? Of course it went in 3/4 of the time.

And shooting 43% as well, on 11.1 FGA. Definitely the best long distance shooter I have seen considering his shots off the dribble and volume of attempts. I would put Ray Allen in that class also if he played in this era, as he had a season shooting 43.4% on 7.7 FGA and always seemed to be on balance with his shot. Imagine if Curry improved his shot selection a bit, he could potentially shoot from 45-47%. Ray Allen was just under 48% on 6.6 FGA in that playoff run.

GOAT 3PT shooter

people are acting like he's some average ass all-star player when in reality he's a force this league has never seen in terms of his ability to be so effective from deep, averaging nearly 29 points a game in the post-season with half of his makes/over half of his FGA are from behind the 3pt line. That is simply insane. No one has been that effective as a scorer while shooting the long range shot at such a high volume. It's not like the offense is built on getting him open via screens while he plays off-ball like Reggie Miller or Ray Allen did, most of his 3s are contested and look like something prime Kobe used to do, but at an even higher volume and accuracy.

Curry is a beast of a shooter (and has been for years). Clean shot, quick release, creates great separation, etc... Having said that, if Gilbert Arenas or Tracy McGrady had gone farther in the playoffs for their respective teams more regularly (or at all) think they could dropped alot of three's too.. You got a good amount of recent-era players in the top-10 (Rashard Lewis, Danny Green, Klay Thompson, Michael Finley, Paul George, Jason Richardson, etc).
