- iggy spent essentially 11 years of his career having to primarily guard bran

- by advanced statistical standards, iggy has guarded bran better than kawhi leonard and jimmy butler

- bran shot 18-54 against iggy (34%)

- of james's 54 shots against iggy, 8 of them have been uncontested (15%)

- 85% of bran's shots against iggy have been contested

- bran shoots 41% when contested by other players. he shoots 11-46 (24%) when contested by iggy

- the average distance bran shoots against iggy is 11.0 ft

- iggy has started a possession guarding james 90 times. the cavs forced him to switch a measly 18 times (20%)

- of james's 18 makes against iggy, 2 of them have been assisted

- james has shot 14-18 from the field when assisted. on the 74 plays bran has been guarded by iggy, he has had an assist opportunity twice

- of the 93 plays that iggy doesn't guard him, there has been 16 assist opportunities

- when iggy was in the game, bran shot 38% and the cavs were -55. when iggy sat, bran shot 44% and the cavs were +30

we all say defense wins championships but nobody wants to admit that defense can win you a fmvp. :confusedshrug:

Jimmy Butler is the only one to guard a prime Lebron with any success so I still give him him the nod.

the only weird thing is that the people voting don't have all those stats you just posted. (maybe they do, no idea how the voting works besides 11 people voting)

and by the eye test I personally would have given to curry, then lebron, then iggy.

but whatever.... I found it surprising that a guy from the akron beacon had two players from akron to vote for and choose neither.

Iggy has been faster than Lebron because of Bron's fatigue, hence the great contest and defense in general :applause:

i wouldn't use fatigue as an excuse considering that iggy plays terrific defense on him all game and not just in the 4th quarter.

The playoffs have definitely taken a toll on Bron in general, and the cumulation of POs

I mean, Iggy was SO much faster than Lebron. Amazing player

I'm still shocked Curry got no finals MVP votes though...

iggy had studied bran for over a decade so that doesn't surprise me that he could keep up with him

i'm not completely shocked because again people were really digging into curry for his game 2 and 4 performances but they continued praising iggy for his offensive consistency and defense. just think about it, iggy played so well that the coach felt pressured to start him, and as soon as they started him they blew out the cavs on the road. that's not an accident.

if curry had a better game 2 and four then he would be the fmvp, but he scored a measly 3 points at the half and was literally outscored and outplayed by delly.

Don't forget that while most of the credit for those stats lies with Iggy, some of it lies with Lebron's inexorable quitness.
