Not sure how much you or anyone value advanced stats, but Curry had an ORtg of 104 and DRtg of 102. Iggy ORtg was 117 and DRtg 100...

I think once memory of this finals fade, history will see it as a robbed FMVP. Stats remain. Not saying that he didn't deserve it, but people won't remember the team spirit he embodied or the defensive effort he put on James. They will see that he should 36% from the FT line though and Curry had 10 more points per game for example...

By the way, not everyone from ESPN thinks he should've been MVP.

Mike Greenberg and Tom Haberstroh (off the top of my head) think the MVP was Lebron, and that was pedaled across all ESPN platforms (web, tv, radio, etc.) prior to game 6. Can you say agenda?

Curry was the MVP and to get 0 votes is a joke and probably more unfair than Lebron not getting the award.

Curry was drawing multiple defenders throughout the finals and was able to create open scoring opportunities for others via hockey assists or creating openings on the weakside of the floor. Can't really quantify it, but his impact went far beyond numbers. How is getting 26, 6, and 5 on 44/39/89, while letting other guys flourish, and securing the chip not Finals MVP worthy?

Because Curry was robbed of FMVP. Its not just about 10 PPG more or how terrible Iggy was at FT, its about who is the team leader, who does the most for the team, who faces the main attention at D, etc.

Lets put into perspective, Curry was more valuable to his team in the Finals than Dirk was in '11. Curry was awesome in the most important games and closing out the series, while Mavs won the most important games despite of Dirk. How come media didnt gave the award to Marion or Terry? Lets not forget how terrible Lebron looked vs Mavs defense, and how Lebron had historically great performance vs "FMVP" Iggy.

Its a BS media reward, nothing more, nothing less.

Any Iggy got those numbers mostly on wide open shots created by constant traps on Curry

Supposedly LeBron and Iggy got all the votes. Hard to believe Curry didn't get 1.

This. SOOooo this.

The defense Cle played on Curry was to double him 35 and 40 feet from the basket with their PG and C (also leaving the lane wide open). Golden State was playing 4 on 3 any time they wanted. When Cle started making the run in the 4th GS just went to this and as soon as he got doubled he would just back up and pick them apart. Dray had a great game because he was getting the ball at the top of the key on a 4 on 3. I really think he should give Curry a cut of his next contract because he wouldn't get that space anywhere else in the league.

Meanwhile, the Cle plan was to leave GS's weakest link wide open and force him to beat them. I mean if you watched a clip of all his points there wouldn't be a primary defender contesting more than a few baskets all series. They went to a hack-a dude defense at one point in the series. He "held" his guy to 36/13/9 for the series. This man is Andre Iguodala and he just won the Finals MVP.

If you won't give it to LeBron you simply HAVE to give it to Curry. Giving it to the "weak link" is comical at first, then a little sad.

Iggy deserved it. Most of Lebron easy baskets happened when he was not on the floor. He made Lebron scared to drive..

lol then why did ESPN vote for iggy

its their media that cast all the votes

theyre the ones who pushed lebron all series and iggy the last 2 games before last night

they bought into their own hype and now a day later realize they might have screwed up

there goes espn again just reading stats and rewriting history

:oldlol:

my conclusion .... DUH ofcourse curry was MVP... winning team guy with 26ppg? 10+ more than any other warrior

lmfao

i said it all series.

maybe espn realized iggy winning it is a slap in the face to lebron

I agree it's a stupid media award like they wanted Lebron to win FMVP bc they already drafted articles about it. Curry & Iggy were the only players deserving of the award.

Iggy turned the series around with his play in the last 3 games.
Curry drew tons of attention and delivered in crucial moments, especially game 5.

Can we take all forms of MVP voting away from the goddamn media already. I'm so ****ing sick of them giving the awards to the wrong people just to drive home some sick twisted story they need to for their talkshows. Let palyers, coaches, and GMs vote for the MvPs
