View Full Version : The 2015 Finals proved Lebron is NOT capable of averaging 40 PPG in a series

1) he had the biggest green light in history
2) he never got double-teamed
3) he got to play 1-on-1 all alone on the strongside
He had everything set up PERFECTLY, yet he baaaarely averaged 35 PPG, and he needed 35 shots to do it.
These Finals have confirmed for me that Lebron < Bird, Magic, Kobe, and a host of other greats...
I'm sorry, but if you have everything set up perfectly, and you still need 35 shots to get 35 points, you aren't top 10.. Period

The weakest part of Lebron's game is his scoring. I've always said it. People keep bringing up his regular season PPG and FG% to claim hes some all time great scorer but the fact is in the playoffs hes not going to get fast break layups for 1/3 of his points. In the halfcourt he's just not that good at scoring.
To be fair, this was the worst Lebron we've seen since 2007/2008.
He's out of his prime. Doesnt have the stamina, skill, and ability anymore to win with his second and third best players out. Although he still contributes in multiple ways. Hence being two games from winning.
Also 1-9

Partially correct he does not have stamina or dexterity like he was younger to get to rim at will and to confound problem his jumper has been broken plus with not a lot of help around him made things much more difficult. Also I will add lebron could not buy a whistle much of the series which hurt his efficiency and scoring a bit as well. I mean he easily could of averaged another 5 ppg that series if he was getting all the calls.

Lmao. Out of his prime? Dude is 30. Cmon. Yall make it seem like lebron was fat, slow and out of shape. I'm not a lebron fan but the worst showing I seen from bron in a finals was 2011. Mavs had him looking like a backup on the JV squad.

30 years old is a lot considering the minutes he's played. Most players hit a steep downward trend after the 10,000 minute mark or something. He's still good, great even, just not as good as he use to be. 2011 was his worst performance, but he was a better player.
He should still be good/great for another 3-4 years. He probably has the strength and size to be a damn good role player after that.

Even in his prime, I don't think he beats this Warrior team. This is probably the worst LeBron we've seen since 2011. 2011 LeBron was horrific in those finals with a stacked team.

Considering the lack of finesse to his game even a slight drop in athleticism effects him

He can score, he was just never a dominant iso scorer like Kobe, MJ and even Melo. Bron is at his best just playing within the flow and not trying to force shots on iso possession after possession.

True. The circumstances were perfectly set up for him to showcase his iso scoring skills but he showed that it's not up to par with some of the best ever. Amazing all around player but iso scoring was never a Bron strong suit.

he didn't 'barely' average 35 ppg, he averaged 36 ppg on 32.7 shots a game, MJ in 1993 took 33 shots a game, averaged 41 ppg/6 points more, on Dan Majerle and an overall weaker defensive team.

He was either gassed or unable to finish around the basket in ways 2008-10 LeBron would have smashed it in. He got stopped by Curry on a transition bucket last night. That's insane to think about.

this.
Lebron did more for this team than what MJ did in 93.

I find it pretty funny you mention 1-9.
Yet, here you are giving LeBron excuses for his age? He's 30. He should still be in his prime. He's not as springy as his younger days but enough to be near his prime.
MJ was 33-35 years old when he 3peated a 2nd time. Do you know why no one gives excuses for MJ's age? Because he beat the sh*t out of the rest of the league, that's why. So there was no need to give excuses.
1-9 is like the lamest thing I have ever heard on this board. It is so weak and such a desparate attempt to degrade MJ, it's just sad. That's really all you haters have.
When Bron is 33-35 and 3 peats and is still far and away the best player on this planet, then come talk to me.
I find it pretty funny you mention 1-9.

Im not an mj hater. I think he's the GOAT, much better than Lebron. Nothing you said is news to me.
I post 1-9 because it works. :oldlol: Also Jordan had the most stacked teams in the league as he got older.
