JR Smith told me he'll probably opt out of the final year, $6.4 million of his contract

I think he is crazy lol. What team is going to give him the MLE?

He's fine as long as he can be like a third or fourth option. He should make more on the open market.
Maybe like 8 million a year.

Half a season with LeBron and he goes from one of the worst deals in the league to opting out?

I think he opts out and Cle signs him to a 3/25 type deal. Then regrets it soon thereafter.

Just. makes. boneheaded. plays.

I hope he declines his options and gets screwed over... The dude has so much talent but his BBall IQ out weighs everything. His untimely fouls were cringe worthy and his body language was worst then a 5 year old not getting his way.

Cleveland would be crazy to give him that much. Let him walk and use that money to keep Thompson and even Shumpert.

I think his piss poor IQ in general outweighs everything. The guy is just not the brightest crayon in the Crayola box

His value is as high as its ever been, even with the boneheaded mistakes he made. His value was at its lowest prior to the trade, makes sense for him to try to capitalize on it. He has a way of devaluing himself if he stays with a team too long

His market value is probably similar to what you would imagine Nick Young's is.

If he beats $6.4 mill on the open market and gets a bunch of years...I quit.

No NBA team will sign that worthless clown.

However, I can see him going to Euroleague and leading his team to a title and winning the FMVP.

He's worth the MLE. I don't want him on my team though,

Windhorst was on the Lowe Post and said he heard ~$19M/2 years and Lowe said that wasn't a totally crazy number.

Personally, I'd give him $18M/3 years, with 2nd year partially guaranteed (maybe like $2M) and last year totally non-guaranteed. He'd never go for it though. Just think that type of contract is much more tradeable in the future.

I agree. Nick young is making around 5 million for the next 3 years.

2 years at 19 mill is overpaying but it's not that bad.

Cleveland is going to be in some major issues concerning the cap next year. Shump and Thompson also looking to get paid.
