View Full Version : Is there a more clear cut MVP next season than Kevin Durant?

Dude has it in the bag. OKC misses the playoffs due to his injury, now he comes back, and will most likely lead them to the first seed. That will be the narrative. :applause:

The God will be back. Prepare yourselves, you chimps.

Durant's a career loser who's already lower than Curry on the all time list. Durant's not even the best player on his own team. He's done.

I think the race will be between Durant, LeBron, and Davis.

Durant will probably end up winning it, though.

All depends on how he is from injury. I suspect LeBron won't be gunning for MVP next year. Curry, Durant, Davis, Harden, and Westbrook will be though.

If he's healthy it's his to lose, the talent is there and the coaching is too. I could see them destroying the league if healthy.

Blake's the darkhorse for MVP imo. Dude looked really f*cking good these playoffs, they choked hard but if he can carry that form into the regular season, or even get better...he's gonna be up there for MVP.

KD = Next Joel Embiid. He will have to sit all of 2015-16 season.

Kawhi Leonard for MIP, MVP, DPOY. 28 PPG, 9 RPG, 6 APG, 3 SPG, 1 BPG, 55% FG, 45% 3P%, 99% FT%.

haha nah, I think it will be LeBron, KD, and AD will all be close. I don't think Curry will win another ever again. If OKC gets a good player in the draft (I think Sam Dekker is the best fit), then they will be scary with good health.

Really? Russell Westbrook will eat his votes.

Yeah, I was thinking this too, but I read an article a few months ago that detailed why he's been shooting so much jumpers during the regular season, rather than dominating the paint and doing all of these fancy dunks that we're used to seeing, and in a nutshell, it was because he wanted to pace himself and conserve energy for the playoffs. I think he'll have the same mindset going into next season, considering how well he played in the playoffs this year.

Doubt he'll gun for it. Unless CP or DJ get injured, where he'll pick up a lot of the load.

Should be the favorites in my opinion.

Blake just started showing what he's capable of this postseason. I expect an MVP-caliber season from him in 2016.

Davis will probably get it with some more health luck. Davis is weird IMO.

His trajectory is so ****ing insane. I pay close attention to young player trajectory in current
players and GOATS and his is just nuts.

The guy is on pace to be GOAT in some ways. At a certain point you either think he's a lock for top 5 all-time or D-Rob of this era. I lean towards D-Rob but who really knows.

With Lance coming to stat pad rebounds, Blake will definitely coast.

Honestly,I wouldn't play KD more than 32 mpg next season....and wouldn't play him at all against the lottery bound teams...we need him at 100% for the playoffs.

That being said, I predict Westbrook to win MVP...putting up a 26/6/10 season.

he doesn't need to gun for the MVP at all. just the fact that a healthy Klove and KI coming back will make cleveland win 63+ games in the east will make all the media swoon over how lebron is carrying the team, but when he inevitably loses again in the finals they will cry the same story about how he has no help. The truth is that the cavs with love and KI and another year of chemistry will destroy the east in 2016, but lebron will get all the credit and will be one of the frontrunners for MVP. No ****ing doubt in my mind.

Edit: that's why the stupid media should stop being the sole voters for the mvp award.

It's between Durant and Lebron next year, with Curry/Harden/Blake as the outsiders.

If the Cavs can stay more or less healthy, they'll get the 1st seed in the East, which make Lebron an automatic contender.

In the West it's a lot more uncertain, but I could see Durant coming back with a vengeance, looking to prove that he is the best, especially since he will be a free agent at the end of the year.

Curry/Harden/Blake all have a shot as well, but only if their team grabs the #1 spot.

Davis has a shot at being the best player in the league next year, but it's unlikely that the Pelicans will do well enough for him to win the MVP.

Durant should have limited minutes, Davis too but Curry won MVP playing only 32 mins a game.. So I guess they have a good chance.

Curry has a deep team so yeah they can limit his minutes.

Durant should as well, theortically.

Davis will play 40. :lol

I agree with the limited minutes

With Donovan's coaching style being more team oriented....no more GOD-like stats from KD or Goatbrook :(

Lebron may have learned this year that you play hard enough to win but to save himself for the playoffs. There's a chance he lets Kyrie and others do the dirty work

He'll be 31 next season he has a lot of time on those legs he can't and shouldn't be playing so hard he wins a regular season award
