View Full Version : Food trucks are gonna be the death of me

My office is in this office park and the owners of the complex thought it would be a good idea to let a different food truck set up business out front each day. I've been avoiding them but today I just couldn't resist. So into the trash went my nice healthy salad and instead I had 2 cheeseburger sliders with chipotle mayo and curly fries with sriracha dipping sauce. It was damn good but I know I'm gonna be dragging this afternoon.
What are your food truck experiences ISH?

My college campus was littered with them. One of the trucks gave so much chicken/rice for $6 that I used to buy one of their big boxes of chicken and rice for the whole day.
Great breakfast sandwiches too. Some of the really popular trucks on campus probably gross $1,000 daily.

Those face sized chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies were my vice...

Once when I was little I got some candy from this guy in a truck. I was on my way to the park on my scooter and he was just kinda leanin up against the truck and he said "hey kid, you like dessert dont ya?" And I was like "Oh boy, I sure do, mister!" So he said "listen, why dont you come with me for a little bit, ive got a very special dessert i think you'd like to taste."
So I did.
Anyway I dont really feel like talkin too much about the rest of what happened, but Ive always had kind of an aversion to food trucks since then.

Taco trucks are my weakness man. When there's nothing open at 12 am, that's where you gotta roll. Carne asada / chicken quesidllas, tacos, burritos... Authentic but terrible for you too. :lol

The truck that's here on Mondays is called Maki Taco and is supposed to be Asian/Mexican fusion. Sounds like an ill-conceived concept to me.

Authentic Halal trucks in NYC are GOAT food trucks bar none
Totally common to see a line like this for 53rd and 6th in Manhattan for the best Halal food truck in the city.

Best served after 7pm. Crazy long lines during the summer.

$5 with a drink or $6 if you add pita and a drink!

10 years ago I wouldn't eat off them cuz we called it the roach coach...our parents warned us against it.
Now I won't eat off them cuz I'm too cheap to pay 10 bucks for a burrito :lol

Visited a friend in Oakland recently. And since we were not going to be fed on our flight, we planned a visit to a highly rated food truck in a hoody neighborhood nearby.
At 12:30 am on a Sunday there was at least 15 people on line in front of us and four armed guards standing watch.
There's a really good Pad Thai cart that set up in my old neighborhood. Better than most every thai sit down place I've tried.

Ate a meal off a food truck in a convention room during an MTG event. It tasted fine but felt it was overpriced as hell.

No, what I'm saying is all people will die from choices they make. Freak fluke, accidently or intentional. What I'm saying is...go to that food truck every day you can and become the fat **** you dream to be if that's your happy place.

Yeah I really didn't understand that either. If a drunk driver crashes into me I don't think that was by my choice.
So, how about food trucks? :confusedshrug:

Yeah I really didn't understand that either. If a drunk driver crashes into me I don't think that was by my choice.
It's not directly your choice, but all your actions you chose in life led you to that moment. Yes, the drunk driver crashed into you, but what lead you to that point? Did you choose your job and you were driving to work that day? Did you choose to go to a friend's house to bake cakes?
We all know there is a risk of driving and dying even though a small one, but we all choose to go out there and drive anyway because of the small risk and large reward of it.

Great. Meticode's philosophy lesson on predetermination. :facepalm
It's just my opinion. I've read nothing on predetermination at all. I wouldn't be married, living in Wisconsin or have my daughter I have now if a roommate 10+ years ago didn't let my sleep on his couch for two weeks rent free. If he had said no I would've moved out of Wisconsin back to Ohio which I didn't want to do. My life would be completely different with different people I never would've met.
Little choices we make effect the bigger picture. That's how I feel about it observing my life and other's and not reading up on predetermination at all.
I know, I looked in the mirror and hated what I saw. So I changed.
I know right. All your choices in life made you a fat bastard. And now your choices over the past couple of years led you to be merely chubby and on the cusp of being fat. That's great. We should all learn from you.
Don't eat at the food truck every day people! You will become a fat disgusting slob.

Would love to open up a greasy Mexican food truck here in Aus and just deal bomb ass breakfast burritos out of it.
