They're not even that bad, LeBron just brought out the worst in them all with his selfish play.

Seriously, bloke should have played tennis or shot put, team sports ain't his thing.

He can also guard 1-5..(except on a switch) TTs fault :lol

You dont double on the perimeter someone who does not have a consistent jumpshot. The jumpshot has never been Lebron's strong suit.

He did get "doubled" every time he would approach the rim. Ocassionally he would pass from under the rim to the open teammate who would miss the shot.

Let us be serious here, his only two team mates who were worth shit were Tristan Thompson and Mozgov. All Warriors had to do in this series is protect the paint.

who the **** doesn't get doubled when they approach the rim, it's called help defense you jackass. teams don't just give open layups for the sake of not doubling.

Because they're still professional NBA players, you can't just leave them open...

they get hot, Lebron can get hot just about any time ---> game over

Have you watched the game?,idiot.

Why are people so insecure and still try to prop Lebron's crew in the finals. The guy missed his 2nd and 3rd option for crying out loud. :lol

His team was bad compared to Golden State. Very very bad. Not only that, they were playing a small rotation as well because of all the injuries

because one man won't beat an entire team

you focus all your defense on him and his guys get easy baskets.

i'm talking about double-teaming.. teams have been doing it since the game was invented.

like MJ.. MJ got doubled every game.. you should google "Jordan Rules"

They're not that bad... but you certainly don't want them getting open shots and gaining confidence. Best to allow LeBron to get his and lock them up.

All good points, and I agree with you on each... but still... who doesn't get doubled/receive increased attention when they get into the paint?

Because they know you don't need double teams to shut down lebald. Just put a decent defender on him, be physical, and everyone else be ready to steal the kickout pass and watch him get his shit pushed in.

The "Jordan rules" were only that effective because, at that point in his career, Jordan was a VERY unwilling passer.

Also, that level of physicality is not allowed in the NBA today.. Except for when it suits a league agenda.

Why double someone who shoots 28% on single coverage outsode of 5 feet.. (39% overall)

Why you double a guy on the perimeter when his jumper is broken as hell. When he got into the paint was the only time they should've collapsed on him, as they did. Do any of you actually hoop, a 5th grader could understand these basketball situations.

The level of understanding in this thread is laughable.

The strong side help was illegal until about 10 years ago and its usage essentially began in 08 with Thibs as the DC of the Celtics.

LOL at having a player waiting not being a double team. LeBron had two defenders assigned to him almost the entire series.

pretty much this. He was single coveraged until like the free throw distance away from the hoop

If you double LeBron you're playing right into his hands. Double him and you're just going to end up fouling him in the paint.

His supporting cast after Love and Kyrie is hot garbage. Can't blame Lebron this year folks.

They did double at times and there was always 1-2 guys hedging in the paint(but most of you guys dont play or understand basketball).
When your 3 guards are 0/21 from 3(without you on the floor) and even terrible with you on the floor then you lose. Your team misses shots, then you lose. Its a make or miss league

Sure, if you happen to pile drive him into the stands, anything less no foul.

His crew wasn't that bad, they hit their wide open 3's for the most part. And TT/Mozgov are good finishers inside. You can't just leave them alone. The goal should be stop Lebron from penetrating and stay at home on 3 pt shooters. Which is what GS did from game 4 on.

double... :lol

he was single coverage in the perimeter (naturally, because his jumper is broken)

but the moment he gets within the paint area, the defense collapses like Lebron was a fkn magnet. the entire GSW team collapses on him.

double? :lol

how about 4 guys converging on Lebron the moment he so much as try to get to the rim?

this forum is fkn terrible with people clueless about what is really happening.
it's like they're watching the games but not seeing anything except what they wanna see.

Whenever any player drives the defense will collapse.

The argument some of us are making is, the help is late because the lanes are open. They literally clear the lanes, so when he does get to the rim, they're late in their rotations. And it's not because he's so fast that they're late.

no. not all players cause defense to collapse.

and it isn't just driving. Lebron posting up collapses defenses like no other player can.

you try telling me other players who post up collapses defenses like Lebron does. lol. watch the games.

there are very few post up players that truly collapses the entire opposing team's defense.
