Its not too big and not too small. Its a peaceful and beautiful city, very green, lots of trees and nature stuff. There are very few "bad" neighborhoods, its one of the safest cities in the country. The roads and infrastructure are generally quite good compared to most other major cities I have been to. There is tons of amazing food at all price points, from fancy expensive restaurants to awesome street food carts. The people are open-minded and friendly. The temperature is very mild, it rarely gets too hot or too cold, the average day is cloudy and ~50-70 degrees. Its a short drive away from tons of great outdoor activities, the pacific ocean, the mountains, the gorge... etc. Weed is legal, if you are in to that kind of thing.

i know portland had a lot of skinheads back in the 90s, but i think most of them have left town these days.
it is still a very white city tho.

My sister moved to Portland last year and raves about the city. She's always been the more outgoing person in our family so i can see why she loves it. I call her on the weekends and she always tries to convince me to move there, and I probably will in the near future, i just have to bury some ties i have in phx.

My hometown.
I miss it. But I can never really 'go back' to it. Just doesn't feel like 'home' to me anymore.
That said, I wouldn't mind settling there someday.
I miss living in Portland. Was just there the last week though.
