If this dude had a slightly different mentality, he could have been a star.

7 rings and crazy amount of clutch plays.

Check out the highlights from this game below. That dunk at 54 seconds is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZdik09RGJI

And then when he catches the ball before making the game winning shot, you can hear the crowd GROAN as soon as he catches because they know it's going in.

One of the best true role players ever.

Extremely two-dimensional.

Long thin, relatively athletic big man. Although no bulk, wasn't hard to post him up.

Selective three point shooter. Very hot/cold, went 1 for 18 in the 2003 playoffs which arguably cost the Lakers that series and a 4-peat. Hit some legendary threes.

Although personally I would love to have a Robert Horry type of career if I was as player. Be expendable and a role player. Having less pressure put on you and have the ability to change teams without heavy amount of criticism.

Was a lottery pick and had immediate 30 mpg+ PT, starting on a really good team (minimum second round each year, 2 championships in 4 years).

Finished career averaging 7 ppg on 42%.

Generally has an admired career. While guys like TMac and Nash are used as underachieving examples.

Easy to get those shots off when you're playing alongside Hakeem,Shaq and Duncan. Crazy clutch though.

Correct. Duncan ruined the nick by changing it to Bob, and somehow that name stuck.

Sheed completely annihilated Horry on the block, a straight horror show. If Sheed wasn't a superstar, Horry was nowhere close.

A superstar? He was lazy as shit, but he was never going to be a star either way. He just wasn't that good.

That era was actually called the Shaq/Duncan/Garnett era.

For a long time, Garnett was considering at par or even better than Duncan.

How is one of the best man post defenders of his generation lazy as shit? Yes, even in Portland he was amazing on defense. It was just highlighted once he got under Brown.

Misunderstood.

'Who is the best Power Forward in the NBA'

2003 GM Survey - Duncan 80.8%, Garnett 11.5%

2005 GM Survey - Duncan 66.7%, Garnett 33.3%

2006 GM Survey - Duncan 78.0%, Garnett 12.0% (Duncan had a 16% share for Centers behind Shaq)

2007 GM Survey - Duncan 57.1%, Garnett 14.3% (Dirk finished 2nd, Duncan also had a 17.9% share for Centers behind Shaq)

2008 GM Survey - Duncan 48.1%, Garnett 25.9% (Duncan also topped the list for Centers with a 48.1%)

2009 GM Survey - Duncan 51.9%, Garnett 25.9% (Duncan had an 18.5% share for Centers)

2010 GM Survey - Tim Duncan 58.6%, Garnett 20.7% (Duncan had a 17.9 share for Centers behind Howard)

2011 GM Survey - Duncan 21.4% (first time he didn't finish first in like a decade), Garnett 7.1%

2012 GM Survey - Duncan unlisted, Garnett unlisted

2013 GM Survey - Duncan unlisted, Garnett 6.7%

2014 GM Survey - Duncan 31.0% (1st place), Garnett unlisted (Duncan had a 10.3% share for Centers)

The only one I can't find is 2003-04. Duncan had just won MVP and Finals MVP so I'm almost 100% sure he won the vote again though.

Garnett was not considered better than Duncan. It's not just the GM Survey. Analysts and the actual numbers will tell you the same thing.

So the only year you can't find is when Garnett won MVP? Lol, I just remember general sentiment back then, the storyline was Duncan got drafted to a Grade A organization and Garnett was stuck in no mans land in Minesota. Garnett was posting retarded numbers across the board and was seen as the more versatile modern player while Duncan was your prototypical fundamental big man you can rely on. And who knows how successful Garnett could have been had the draft positioning been reversed. Obviously in hindsight it is no longer a valid comparison

Did anybody watch Clutch City on NBAtv?

The craziest thing was that Horry was traded to somebody because he was terrible on offense. Seemed he didn't shoot enough. He was already sitting in the stands waiting to play when he got the call to go back to Houston because Sean Elliot couldn't pass the physical because of his kidney condition.

Yeah I saw that. He looked devastated while sitting in the stands. Pretty cool how he the cancellation of the trade is what sparked the onset of a pretty impressive career.
