Lets be honest... Kobe would be called a "team killer" and "cancer" for using all the possessions LeBron did this past finals.

Dude was called that back in 2006 and 2007 anyway, so you could only imagine the type of vitriol he'd receive on the big stage. :oldlol:

the moment when you realize even in this hypothetical situation Kobe still 3/7 and better than 2/6

Hypothetical situation: what if op wasn't a massive homosexual?

Normally the OP peddles hot trash, but I actually like where he is going with this and would like to expand it even further.

What if Kobe left LA once Shaq started to fall off, and recruited an All Star, 20-10, power forward to join him and AI in Philly?

What if once in Philly he started shitting all over the coach and calling his own number instead of what the coach drew up?

What if he had that efficiency Bran had in the Finals and hogged the ball the way he did?

Kobe would be crucified (and likely by me, in this very forum), there would have never been the JA Andande fluff piece about Kobe being 'off the hook' like there was for Bran in game 1, there would have never been talk of series MVP for a guy who went 2/6 in the 2015 finals the way there was for Bran.

ESPN knows the WWE style of moving the needle, you need a villain and a hero, and they always painted Kobe as the villain (his gruff attitude and rape charge had a lot to do with forcing their hand obviously).
But now their efforts to make Bran the hero is borderline sickening, yes he is the best player in the world, but so was Tim Duncan, so was Kobe, so was Shaq, someone is every year.
After the decision it was always 'LeBron doesn't like being the villain etc. that is why he mentallly checked out in 2011.
The World Wide Leader has put so much effort into branding Bran, perhaps more than any other athlete ever.

it happened in 2004

billups single handedly punishes kobe for refusing to give up the ball to shaq

billups lights up the lakers and kobes defense

billups wins finals MVP

04 was more off the court distractions (Kobe/Shaq, Kobe/Mailman) than it was on the court performance. Kobe was one of the better Lakers in that series.

That's like saying Delly was one of the better Cavalier in the Finals.

Hypothetical situation: What if Kobe was drafted by Charlotte and not traded?

I think 1 ring would be possible

You cant honestly compare the 4 players in question. Iggy was the best player on a 57 win team like 2 years ago. Leonard is now the Spurs leading scorer. Iggy putting up 16/6/4 in 37 minutes a game or Leonard doing 18/7 in 33...hardly shocking developments. Hell Leonard put up 17/7 this season in typical Pop limited minutes while fighting injury. He had 9 more 20+ point games this season than Tony Allen has in his career.

Yes im gonna act like going from 9 to 16ppg is not historic especially from a former all star who has been the best player on several teams.
