How many guys in the history of the game could do that? 6'9", 250 lbs, built like a tank and with the handles to run the floor with such speed and finish like that? Blake? Barkley? Who else?

I think you missed my point. Yes, some bigs have decent handles and can go coast to coast but I am talking about the combination of size, power, handles and speed. Show me another guy that big, that powerfully built with the handles to go coast to coast with such speed. Video examples would be great.

That's not bad. But Bennett is 6'7" and 240 while Randle is 6'9" and 250 lbs and built like a tank. I still see a difference in Randle's speed, especially his lower body fluidity. He has the lower body fluidity of wing player. That's why one of his biggest assets will be his face up game. He'll be able to blow by most 4s with ease. And he is naturally so strong. You will be shocked at how easily he moves guys and plays through contact. He really has a rare blend of power, size and explosive speed.

I been watching some Randle videos lately and I wonder where did the Z-Bo comparisons come from. He's a lot more like Odom, Blake and Barkley (not the level of talent but the way he plays) IMO.

not a fair comparison

bennett actually makes a move, he uses a crossover, randle's drive is just a straight line drive.

You guys are missing my point. I am saying a COMBINATION of size, power and speed along with the handles to take it coast to coast. Obviously, almost any decently skilled player can go coast to coast. But how many 4s that are built like Randle (6'9" and 250 lbs) and built like a tank? And from watching him in summer league and in college, his handles are amongst the best in the league for a 4. It's that definitively easy to see.

He reminds me of Barkley and Blake in that regard. Guys who can grab the board and take it upcourt themselves and not look for a PG. They can create offense when the defense hasn't set yet.

He didn't have the handles of a Barkley or Blake or even Randle. It just wasn't part of his regular game. He certainly had the athleticism but not the handles.

Anyways, you guys can bash me all you want. You'll see how special Randle is in transition when he starts doing Blake type stuff on a regular basis. He'll grab a board and turn it up court and show the handles and the ability to finish in transition or dish off to a teammate.

And what will separate him from everyone else will be his power. People will be shocked at how strong he is. Guys will deflect off of him and he'll be able to finish through contact.

People will be amazed at his combination of power, size, speed and ability to create in transition.

1. Giannis has power. Not as much as Randle but....

2. With his length, I'm giving Giannis the advantage in size over Randle

Are you guys living on another planet? Since when did the Greek Freak have power? The guy is a toothpick. He is a long, freakishly athletic player but power is not part of his game.

Randle is built like a bull. He hasn't even filled out yet. He just turned 20 and he's already shedding guys and playing through contact.

Is he about 250lbs, built like a bull, strong as hell, can shed other men around 250 lbs and play through contact? No. So he doesn't qualify for my criteria.

you can make your criteria super inflexible, but that makes it less impressive of a statement.

Giannis plays through contact, but most importantly, he plays OVER contact Randle is undersized.

That being said, I really like Randle. He's like Blake Griffin minus some jumping, but he seems like a better shooter than BG coming into the league. He could be a really nice player. He could reach all-star level if he:

1) Either improves his jumper in constancy and range. He could be a 20-23 ppg scorer
OR
2) Improves on his handle (already good) and passing (decent) and becomes a new age Odom (like some other folks have already mentioned)

My criteria was pretty clear. I mentioned Barkley and Blake as examples. What position do all 3 play? PF. They all weigh about 250 lbs. They all have the strength and power to operate down low and bang with bigs. What separates these guys from other 4s is their ability to grab the rebound and take it up court in transition with rare handles (for a 4) with explosive speed and either take it all the way or create for others. That's the jist of my point. They have a rare combination of power, size (250 lbs, not length like Greek Freak), speed and handles for 4s.

The OP's video is impressive, and he's right, there aren't too many players that have that combination of power, strength, speed and skill.

Some that come to mind though (other than those mentioned already, most of whom actually failed to meet the criteria):

The Original: https://youtu.be/NHcrG6gfJhI?t=136

The Grandmama: https://youtu.be/-yYgcV0iOmw?t=83

The Reignman: https://youtu.be/ORLraUwreEA?t=68

People forget how good Terry Cummings was: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piLcH9opOvQ

None perfectly match the criteria (Johnson lacks the height for example), but all have similarities.
